When Dee Dawson meets sexy mohawked guitarist Joel Gibbon, she knows it won't be long before she has him wrapped around her finger. No guy has ever been able to resist her - but Dee's met her match in a player like Joel.
Dee's not the relationship type - not after seeing the pain "love" has caused her friends and family - yet she's desperate to make Joel want her more than anyone else. He quickly becomes an obsession, and when a reckless attempt to make him jealous ends in disaster, Dee turns into the damsel in distress she never wanted to be. With her carefree world crashing down around her, the last thing she needs is Joel's pity.
But Joel is suddenly determined to prove he cares, and no matter how hard Dee tries to push him away, he refuses to let her shut him out. Now the girl who swore she'd never say those three little words must choose between guarding her heart and losing Joel forever - or falling head over heels for the tattooed rock star of her dreams.

This is the second in this series and I wasn't disappointed at all. I'm not going to lie when I say there are some very mature and sensitive issues in the story but I am looking forward to hearing the next instalment of this series.
The narrators; Arielle Delisle and Kirby Heyborne were much better suited for the two main characters and although the part that Kirby Heyborne read was much smaller I'm beginning to like the part near the end more and more
This book was so much fun. A perfect example of New Adult. Loved the chemistry between all the characters. Can't wait for the next one.
"" I'm Seriously f***ing in love with you....""
Hero is flawed (and a man whore), however he has met his equal!!! This story came off as real to me. The heroine was so damaged and messed up, surprisingly together with the hero, perfection. It was a great listen, read well.
I love to read a book first and then buy the audiobook to listen to it. I loved the audiobook just as much as I loved the actual book! The narrator was great and hit it head on!!
"Great Book well worth the credit"
Enjoy the way Jamie writes and good narration
Entertaining and easy listening
Good narration easy to follow with the different voices
"Just as good as Mayhem"
I really enjoyed Mayhem with the bad boy good girl love story. This one didn't have a good girl in it but was just as exciting. Plus, it was all the same characters from Mayhem so you felt like you knew everyone right from the start. Jamie Shaw has written two really fun and exciting love stories.
"Loved this book!"
I am not a big fan of rock and roll love stories. this one was a good one. I wanted to listen to it in one sitting. I wrote a longer review before, but it somehow disappeared and I wanted to make sure this had my endorsement! Credit worthy!
"Great addition to series"
The narrator did a good job. Her voice matched the age of the heroine and the other characters were also done well.
This book was not sweet like Mayhem, but the characters are not what you would call adorable like Adam and Peach, so that is to be expected. But Adam and Peach had their story, so we want a different experience. We first met Joel and Dee in Mayhem and knew before going into Riot that a charming story was not in the cards for these two. Joel sleeps with a different girl or girls every night. He always has someone new hanging off of him whenever Dee sees him; even after they hooked up in the first book. Joel has no plans to change his man-whore ways. Dee is the female version of Joel in that she has sex with different guys on a regular basis and never lets herself feel anything for them. She likes to capture their attention, their hearts, and then dump them and move on. This type of female character is harder to identify with as most women are not quite so open sexually, especially sex without emotion, and tend to be more sensitive to other’s feelings; but heartless women are certainly not unheard of. The good news is that Dee is not really cold-blooded; she believes this is what she has to do in order to protect herself from being hurt.
Joel and Dee start off playing the game of – look at me, I’m cooler than you and can get anyone I want – that quickly becomes a habit. However, Joel is not like every other guy Dee has been with and does not fall into her jealousy trap. This drives Dee crazy and she can’t walk away. Dee makes a bad decision that quickly intensifies the story and the relationship between her and Joel. Eventually they both fall hard. The negative behavior of both characters is expected due to their age and normal behavior patterns, but Dee tends to be a bit more self-absorbed throughout the story. There are things in her background that drive her to act out and push those who care about her away; even her best girlfriend. I just wanted to slap her and tell her to get over it. But then, that is normal behavior for me. LOL Everyone knows at least one drama queen that they would like to slap or shake the crap out of. I know a few that are way past the maturity level of the characters in this book.
The beauty of Jamie Shaw’s writing is her ability to create such unique, realistic and age appropriate characters. Real me in with all the characters in book one so I can’t get enough, and I will auto download every book in the series – and that is the true brilliance of a good author. Do not pass up this author. I am looking forward to Sean and Kit’s story…
If you enjoyed Mayhem you will enjoy this story as well. This was a love story with an unusual twist.... happy listening.
I love this series! Jamie Shaw knows how to pull you into her stories with the character chemistry and story line.
I loved it I hope the come out with one telling Shawn and kits story.
There were a couple of times I wanted to just smack D but that's what makes it a good story I guess.
