Possessed of an extraordinary telekinetic gift - she can make objects burst into flames - Dahlia Le Blanc has spent her life isolated from other people. But just when she thinks she's finally achieved some semblance of peace, her well-orchestrated world comes crashing down.
For a reason she cannot guess, she has become the target of deadly assassins. Suddenly, no place is safe - not even the secret refuge she established long ago. Now she must rely on Nicolas Trevane, a dangerous warrior sent to track her down and protect her. Together, they generate a scorching heat Dahlia never imagined was possible. But can she trust this man with her secrets, especially when some people would kill to get their hands on them?

"Swift-moving and sexually charged....an electrifying read, one that should satisfy [Feehan's] fans and cement her reputation as the reigning queen of the paranormal romance." (Publishers Weekly)
I'm a dark reader and although I've "meant" to read Christine Feehan's other series.
This is my first actual read. So glad I did.
I know this is the second book in the series but I'm as hooked on this as the Dark series.
"Nicolas and Dahlia - Blend perfectly together !"
This series has a little of everything - Action and Danger, Psychic abilities and a lot of Hot Romance...... At the end of Shadow Game Lily and the GhostWalkers were determined to find the other children that Lily's father Dr Whitney had experimented on to enhance their psychic abilities. Dahlia is the first of those children that she has managed to track down but after looking at recordings of her training it seems she has a dangerous ability. Nicolas is sent to find her and let her know that they can help her to live a normal life but when he gets to her he finds she has become the target of deadly assassins. He manages to save her from their first attack but her friend has been taken hostage and Dahlia is determined to save him. She is going to need the help of Nicolas and the other GhostWalkers to rescue her friend and find out who is behind the plot to take her life.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and Mind Game didn't disappoint. I find the idea of an experiment to increase psychic abilities really interesting and love finding out about the different powers that the GhostWalkers have. Dahlia has a very unusual and dangerous talent which allows her to do amazing things but it comes at a very high cost to her. Constantly absorbing energy from her surroundings and the feelings of others she is easily overwhelmed and when that happens things become explosive, with Dahlia often setting fire to anything around her. Unable to control her powers she is a danger to anyone around her but Nicolas is willing to take the risk to be with her.
Dahlia has been through a lot since she was experimented on as a child, she has had no one she could rely on and has never allowed anyone to get close to her. Her dream of having a family has always seemed an unrealistic one and she has been forced to spend most of her time alone to avoid the affect that other people's emotions have on her. Nicolas is the most cold and aloof of the GhostWalkers but Dahlia breaks down his barriers and allows his passionate side to come to the front. It takes a while for Dahlia to allow Nicolas in but it's well worth the wait and the heat between them is literally explosive!
I enjoyed seeing more of the camaraderie between the GhostWalkers and it was sweet watching them welcome Dahlia into their family. We've been introduced to some more interesting characters who I'm hoping we'll see more of in future books and I'm looking forward to finding out more about the individual GhostWalkers psychic abilities. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!
"a lot of sex becomes repetative"
an impossible match made possible
more inflection than I could give
wanted to laugh, and relax after sooo...much sex
sex took away some of the underlying story it seems as though he was filling the pages with sex instead of making it a really special
"Excellent Romantic Suspance"
I'd grown tired of Ms. Feehan's Carpathians, even though I still buy them, but this series is exactly what I (and she) needed. I've noticed several people complaining how there was too much sex.. DOOD! IT'S A ROMANCE. IF YOU DON'T' LIKE SEX, DON'T BUY THE DAMNED THING!! Now, the review.
THE BOOK: fast paced action with plenty of external conflict. I read a book on goal, motivation, and conflict recently and i think Ms Feehan has mastered these concepts. Each character had a definite goal they were trying to accomplish. Each character had separate motivations. Once they got together, they altered those motivations to help each other and both of them still reach their separate goals. The convlict was all over the place. Internal. External. Romantic. A very solid story with interesting twists and turns. Ms. Feehan made me, as a romance reader, care deeply about what happened to her characters. I particularly loved the heroin. Dahlia was strong and very powerful, if unable to control her abilities alone, but slight and small and as delicate as the flower she's named for. Nicholas was the strong, silent type with a driving need to protect the heroin. The only fault I had with this book was the authors "head hopping." I don't necessarily feel that you absolutly MUST stay in one character's point of view through an entire scene, but there needs to be a significant emotional shift in a scene if you switch characters. Ms. Feehan has always done this with every book I've ever read of hers, so it's sort of her style. Given that she's a NY Times Best Selling Author, I think I can forgive her on that. :) Because of that, I can't give less than 5 stars for this story.
THE NARRATION: Mr. Stechschulte (omg! the poor child in kindergarten!!) Does an excellent job. I particularly loved his Cajun accent for Gater (which made me rush out and buy the next book in this series.) He made the sex scenes that much hotter and, though I'm new at listening to romance or erotic romance read by a male narrator, believe me, i'm learning to love it because of Mr. Stechschulte :) I noticed others complained about his accent or how he says some words, but I found it sexy and that it added to the overall effect of the story itself. I think he is the perfect narrator for this series and I hope they continue to use him. There was an over abundance of "mouth noise," particularly in the second part of the book. I don't blame Mr. Stechschulte for this though. I blame the production staff. It wasn't in the first half, or at least, not as much and I didn't notice it in the next book in this series at all. It was, however, slightly distracting so I gave the performance 4 stars instead of the 5 I really felt it deserved. I will say this, though; Mr Stechschulte can call me ANYTIME. Read the weather report. Read the newspaper. WHATEVER! Just do it in that sexy Cajun drawl and I'll gladly listen for the rest of the week... :D
"Still a fan. Love the ghostwalkers."
Christine Feehan is an automatic download for me. Love this series. I am a PR fan and this series is differently wonderful.
"Love the Ghost Walkers"
I love each set of characters and the dynamic
Each one of the Ghostwalkers is my favorite for different reasons
All of them he is a great performer
Each one of these books has a heady sex scene or three but the story line is great.
The Ghost Walkers series ranks among my top two highest book series and audio book experiences. I am so hooked I am buying them ahead of my points in quick succession. I'm not too happy at the higher price over other books.
It was very well written on characterization. Real people, real reactions, no unrealistic swooning on either characters part. Caution and fear, insecurity, the whole gamut.
Nicolas Trevane has finally met, the only woman to take his heart and a one of a kind match when the dark and dangerous Dahlia La Blanc walks out of the bayou and straight into chaos.
Loved this book, so far I'm loving this series. Looking forward to the rest of them.
I listened to this one about 7 months ago, Loved the story and the narrator.
I don't think either is better than the other. I love her books and Tom tells it so beautiful.
When they fall for the girl
"Beware of fires"
The female leads combination of innocence and strength.
Dahlia was a fun character and strong in way most people couldn't be.
Better than the launch pad for the series nice to see growth.
"Great 2nd series"
Could not break away from listening because it keep your interest with the adventures of the main character and the supernatural phenomena of each of the Ghost Walkers
Jayne Castle books that are about Harmony because of the supernatural powers that each character has
I like the way he can grab you into each characters' life
More than just fire
