Summary

Romantic, poignant and endearingly honest throughout, Me Before You is the bittersweet tale of an unusual but powerful love. Often funny, sometimes bitterly sad, it won't leave you the same person you were when you began.

Shortlisted for: Popular Fiction Book of the Year – Specsavers National Book Awards 2012

Lou Clark knows a lot of things. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop, and she might not love her boyfriend Patrick. Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live, and now everything feels small and joyless. What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.

A Surprisingly Good Read

What started out to be what I thought was going to be a guilty pleasure read turned into a beautiful, witty, charming and bittersweet read. I could not turn the page quick enough on my kindle, I purchased the audio back up so I could get on with other things. I will definitely read the next book. JoJo Moyes has written with great sensitivity and tackled a very difficult subject with delicately and respectfully. I found myself willing the decision to change until the end while I still disagreed I respected the decision, I am desperately trying not to give anything away, a definite must read.

Excellent from beginning to end.

Though it is not the sort of book I would normally read I really loved it. The narration is brilliant and the story is extremely touching.

Wonderful

What an incredible and very memorable book. The story is both simple, fabulous and yet absolutely devastating. The characterisation is brilliant - Lou and Will are both superb - and the narration is excellent throughout. It is also a very thought-provoking book; if you were Will, would you feel the same way? After listening to this book I could not begin another book for a long time. I know it will stay with me for ages. This is an absolute essential - you will not regret downloading this one, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Brilliant

After reading the other reviews this book did not disappoint, the book was so moving but yet in places very funny. I did not want it to end but when it did I thought the ending was very good. I would recommend this book 100% and I have already insisted all my friends buy it!

A very moving book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Although it made me cry a lot, it was also very uplifting and life affirming. The main characters really drew me in, and the chapters from other character's viewpoints helped to broaden the book. I would like to read other books written by this author.

Great big lump in the throat

Brilliant story, contentious plot and I challenge anyone not to shed a tear at the end.

Must read!

This is a moving tale about a modern & topical dilemma, I laughed & I'm not a weeper but it made me cry, keep the tissues handy. I read it fast it was so good but @ the same time I was worried about how it was all going to end! A must read.
