Written on a similar scale to the great classic Pilgrim's Progress, you'll travel along with Much-Afraid and her companions, Sorrow and Suffering, as they make the ascent to the High Places where the King of Love reigns supreme. And, you'll discover that as the journey transforms Much-Afraid into Grace and Glory, your heart will be changed as well.

One of my favourite books, beautifully written and narrated. Based on Solomon's Song of Songs, Hannah Hurnard really captures a wonderful book of love.
Marvelous book! I was first recommended this book in print by a nun when I was 15 and I found it then and still find it to be an allegory of the very best sort. It's a wonderful adventure story for those too young to appreciate the allegory and I find new meanings each time I re-visit it as an adult.
"Love this story."
all in all awesome beautiful story love it love it love it.
awesome narrator very beautiful
Makes you open your mind to the way life works.Helps you to listen to your heart.
"Great Book, Flawed Performance"
Hannah Hurnard's book has long held a special place in my heart. It's a sensitive parable of the life of faith, full of the Shepherd's love. Unfortunately, Flo Schmidt's narration trivializes the book. The reading is badly overacted, giving the parable the quality of a melodrama. The reader seems to believe that we won't figure out what to feel about the story unless the emotions are hammered into us.
My recommendation: stick with the print version of the book.
I've read the story before and recommended it to numerous people. However, being able to listen to the audio just brought the story to life! I am reading it with my sisters and decided to listen to it instead...I am so glad I did!
I loved it definitely will recommend it. the only thing is it isn't long enough.
"third time, can't get enough"
This is the third time I have read (first time listening to) this book, and I truly can never get enough of it. I have seen myself on my own journey with my Shepherd, Jesus Christ, as He shapes me and molds me through the trials, struggles, sorrows, etc. on my pathway through life.
Each time I have gone through this book I come out with even more hope, more strength, more determination to go on. Listening to Flo Schmidt only enhanced these aspects for me.
Both . . . I laugh at myself, remembering the times I WAS so afraid, and how when I look back it all seemed as nothing. I cry because so many people are lost in their own anger, doubt, fear, stubbornness, etc.
I will listen to this again and again. I HIGHLY recommend you do too! Be blessed.
good quality of recording! good voice :) thanks
"For all ages"
This beautiful story will encourage young adults/ older children.
Even better, it will remind adults of who God says they really are --no matter their circumstances.
Excellent narration. The superb symbolism, meaning, and pure wisdom that may be drawn from the allegory could be nothing less than inspired by the Holy Spirit. A must read!
