Zander - the most feared of all the Eternal Guardians. It's rumored he can't be killed, and he always fights like he has nothing to lose. But as a descendant of the famed hero Achilles, he's got to have a vulnerability . . . somewhere. Forces of daemons are gathering and have broken through the barriers of the Underworld. Now more than ever the Eternal Guardians are needed to protect both their own realm and the humans'. Zander can't afford to think about what might have been with the bewitching physician he once regarded as his soul mate. But with eternity stretching before him, he also can't fathom spending his life without the one woman who makes him feel most alive. Perhaps he's found his weakness, after all . . .

"This second in Naughton's Eternal Guardian series has wonderful characters. The combination of old-world gods and modern technology is fascinating. Violent and bloody, it's action packed and exciting with a cliffhanger ending." (RT Book Reviews)
Wouldn't say well spent or not but rather benign, take it or leave it
I enjoy the mythology angle and the underworld, demon v hero aspects
Yes but please give the women more backbone. They don't have to be butch but some self respect wouldn't go amiss.
I was actually pleased to get to the end of this book. I've read the previous ones but the 'heroine' in this one made the previous weak women characters look quite dominant. I hated the pathetic repetitive 'i don't understand' whining by Isadora. I also hated the overly breathy narration every time a female character was speaking. The storyline has great potential, shame it seemed to rely on such dubious female role models.
Having said all that, i do like this genre and will probably listen to the next in the series. It's easy listening.
Reading is a passion and an obsession.
This is the second book in the Eternal Guardians series. I loved it!
My sister recommended this series to me as she had read them all (that have been released so far) and thought I would enjoy it, and she was right! I downloaded this as an audiobook, as I had previously enjoyed listening to the first book in the series, Marked, in audiobook too. Entwined is again narrated by Elizabeth Wiley. She did another fantastic job in telling the story. Her narration was crystal clear and her interpretation of the characters brought them to life.
Zander is an interesting character. I really liked him, but he has a serious issue with self-pity at first, which I found a bit off putting for a hero. He is one of the oldest of the Argonaughts and, as he is from Achilles bloodline, believes himself to be immortal. Nevertheless, as the story progresses, he pulls his head out of his you-know-what and is actually a great person to know, who realises that everyone has their weakness and his happens to be his soul mate.
Callia is a wonderful character. She is the King's physician and has the power to heal. I really liked this strong willed woman. She has had to endure a lot over the last ten years, but her spirit has not been broken. But when Zander volunteers to marry Isadora, her world comes crashing down around her ears.
This story is another roller coaster ride, full of action, adventure and danger. Adalanta is busy preparing her demons for war with the Argonaughts, and has a secret weapon in her arsenal, though he's not very willing. This secret weapon is a young boy by the name of Max, who is ten years old. I really liked Max. He is a very resourceful young man, who has had to endure years of abuse and cruelty at the hands of Adalanta, and has had to do some terrible things to survive. His courage and determination to escape his "Mataras" to find his real mother had me cheering him on. Callia also finds out a secret about herself which, although it surprised her, didn't really surprise me. But it made me look at the King in a slightly different light!
As the story progressed, I fell in love with all of the Argonaught warriors, and the story in general. This is a fast paced, action packed adventure from beginning to end.
As I said in my review for Marked, "This story is mostly a typical paranormal romance, with lots of action and danger mixed in. However, there are several twists and turns that keep one guessing at what is really going on.", but after listening to this story I realised that there is a bigger story arc within each storyline, and I am looking forward to finding out what that story arc will reveal. One thing I will say about this story (and series) is the world building is excellent. The characters are well developed and extremely lifelike. I have always been intrigued with Greek gods and their offspring such as Hercules, whose exploits became legend (or are they myth?) over time. So reading about his descendants, who were with Jason on his voyage for the Golden Fleece, excites me. I am also a huge sucker for paranormal romances in general, so I am looking forward to continuing with this series and I will (hopefully) get to read/listen to Tempted as soon as I can.
Elisabeth Naughton has written an exciting paranormal romance series. I love her fast paced writing style and the flow is wonderful. I will be continuing to read this series, but I do have one of her romantic suspense novels sitting on my Kindle, which I hope to now read in the near future too!
Due to scenes of a sexual nature that are on the explicit side, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances. - Lynn Worton
"Compelling, but I didn't like it!"
Although I did get my happy ending I found this story very frustrating. Yes, there was a lot of action. Yes, the men where hunky, Yes the story was compelling. But the women never seemed to stand up for themselves. I was very irritated numerous times throughout the entire book because of this. It seemed that the misunderstandings were so manufactured. And you wanted to yell, "Get a freakin clue!" But that's just me. I kept thinking that the heroine and the supporting heroines would break out and stand up for themselves. Sadly, it didn't happen. I did get one good glimpse of that, but then she went back to covering her head in the sand.
I found myself reading other books in between listening to this one. So, I am not to sure if I would order another. But, hey, there is still hope. One of the sisters might just step up to the plate and grow a backbone :)
"Better than first book, Yuk Narrator"
Yeah, I still cant stand the narrator, but the story line is really good. Im getting the next book. This one was not boring like the first, more action, more chemistry in the main characters. Overall, just better. Im staying with it, still wish for better narration, but hey even second rate ones grow on ya after a couple of books. LOL
"A COMPELLING, CAPTIVATING & MOVING PNR ADVENTURE"
Poor depressed sexy Argonaut Zander wants to end his 800+ yr existence - but how can he - he's immortal but he loved and lost his soul-mate Callia 11 years earlier and nothing's been the same even if he does see her now and again there's only hate between them now.
In this action-packed, emotionally charged, enjoyable listen we find out some heartbreaking secrets, deception, lies and betrayal which has some devastating and far reaching consequences - it's torn apart two soul-mates and their love turns into bitterness, anger, hurt and eventually hate.
Then, as the well written, moving, thrilling drama slowly unwinds, it reveals the truth but it's accompanied by mystery, sub plots, demons, curses, a Prophecy, political intrigue, surprises, kidnapping, villains both old and new, threats, plot twists, revenge and plenty of bloody scenes. Thankfully, there's also humor, sexual chemistry, passion, romance, frantic and tender sex, forgiveness and love but longing and despair leads to a heart-wrenching sacrifice.
Elisabeth Naughton's creative writing vividly describes each scene, both new and old characters join the story, she skilfully adds world-building layers upon layers to her plots, intertwines a deep romance to each story, infuses them with nail-bitting suspense and delivers, to her eager fans, an exciting chapter after chapter listen.
Worth a credit? Well, if I tell you I begged Audible to get this missing 2nd book and I've downloaded all 5 that are presently available and pre-ordered book 6, it'll answer the question and, I think you'll agree, that I'm hooked and I hope you will be too.
"True love is Eternal - who could want for more !!"
It was obvious by the end of Marked that there was something between Callia and Zander. This couple had my heart in knots from the beginning of this book. Readers knew that something awful had happened, but were kept in the dark for a while before the actual circumstances were revealed . The events that brought them to the point of both loathing each other and drawn to each other were beyond heart breaking. Callia had both physical and emotional scars that she kept hidden from everyone. Zander was an immortal who felt he had nothing to live for. One seemingly noble decision was the catalyst for a chain of events that there was no escape from.
Elisabeth Naughton writing style makes all the Characters seam so Real while Elizabeth Wiley's perfect Narration brings them all to Life. The Guardians are strong, often egotistical, and fiercely protective, making them the ultimate romantic heroes. Plus it doesn't hurt that they are all Hot and Sexy Alpha Males.........
"over 200 books on audible first one I quit"
I read the first book was ok bit this one just goes nowhere characters wanting each other is fine bur the same scene written over and over is not a story. We get it he wants her she doesn't realise, she wants him he doesn't realise it just got tedious soap operas handle it better this is rubbish first time I feel I have wasted my money
love the book, can't wait to read the next in her series. definitely worth the credit
"Love the narration; story not so much"
I have to start by saying I am enjoying Elisabeth Naughton's stories. The writing could use some editing but they are interesting. I never thought I'd read paranormals.
This second book in the series was okay. I had a hard time getting into it. I didn't like this as well as the first book and the characters both annoyed me and entertained me - at different times. Like the first book, the ending left me a little flat.
I think I'll wait a bit before moving on in this series.
"heart wrenching revelations as the saga continues"
very good book two in stores. enjoy the way characters are developing. the mythology is remenicant of Sherrilyn Kenyon's series but not as dark or steamy. enjoying it.

"Just as engaging as the first book."
The story had me glued to it, so that I can find out what happened between Callia and Zander. Although I really liked the book there were a few parts that dug under my skin that makes this book go from a 5 star to a 4 star book. One of them being Callia's reaction to events didn't jive with me. I won't name the events so I don't spoil the story. All the woman in this book also made me want to slap them for not standing up for themselves. Eventually they do but it takes a while for them to get there. I also didn't like the dynamic between Callia and Isadora while that got better it made me like Isadora a bit less and I was really looking forward to her book. I still am and I will be getting the next book. There is lots of action and twist in this book and the world gets more intricate with each word. Narrator does a good job.
"Great Display of Fulfilling Storytelling"
Struggled thru book one and had this one thru a series sale. On a whim listened and loved this one. Seems the author had to warm up in book one and got going good in book two. Will continue the series now.
