The world's toughest car race. Twenty-one days of searing heat and rock-hard desert tracks; of blowouts and breakdowns; of subterfuge and sabotage. Ten thousand miles of dust and glory. Driving at breakneck speed over Australia's roughest roads and through the most appalling conditions imaginable, six competitors break free from the pack and fight for the lead, gradually finding themselves entangled in a web of deceit, betrayal and danger. Dust and Glory is best-selling author Evan Green's stirring account of the most grueling race of them all. A hair-raising, careering ride that accelerates to a gripping and unforgettable finish.

Humphrey Bower is the narrator; 'nough said!!
Not a challenging book, just an action packed, roller-coaster ride around 1950s Australia.
Well written, beautifully read, I loved it.
Yes.. i couldnt put it down, i just wanted to know what happened next..
Great accents and multiple voices (in austrailian too) giving the charactors instant recognition
Great book.. wish there was a sequel..
Good, but the voice of the female character was annoying and she came across as a meek and pathetic
The story line was a little predictable, but it is a good story well told and entertained whilst commuting
Highly recommend this book, get the real feeling of the ride across Australia. Will probably listen to it again at a later date
Enjoyed every bit of the story. You can picture all the characters.
He is a great story teller, has the right accent and sense of humour in his voice all Australians have that live in the outback. I wish he narrated more, but have listened to all the ones available on audio by him.
Definitely a story you want to continue listening to, hard to put it down
More stories like this one would be very welcome
No worries about wasting a credit on this one. Fair dinkum! This book has everything; adventure, crime, danger, romance, humour, mishaps and lots if great characters all narrated by one of the best. How could it not be good?!?!
"Cheers to Humphrey Bower!"
This audio book would have suffered immensely had not a narrator of Humphrey Bower's talent read it.
The naivety of the main characters became a bit of a grind. Ridiculous really. After ALL the mishaps and shady characters lurking about, most plodded along in ignorant bliss. The way luck ALWAYS befell the protagonists was a little childish as well. Moral of the story was that good guys prevail and bad guys are buffoons and plagued with misfortune. All delivered with the subtlety of a sledge hammer.
The story certainly had it's moments in spite of a constant repetition of calamitous scenarios, but again, would have been a bore without Humphrey Bower's brilliant narration.
Great Australian story
None. It is quite a unique story. Bryce Courtney writes in a similar fashion
Jack the larichen..
"Best Audiobook EVer"
The humor, and the excellent narration
gelignite jack, one of the funniest and coolest characters i've ever experienced
hard to say, there are so many good scenes. maybe the scene involving the stunned kangaroo and the botched photo
the name is perfect
get this book, you'll not regret it
I'll never tire of Humphrey Bower's voice! Great story too - looking forward to reading another Evan Green book, although they're not narrated by my fave.

"Nothing like a good race book."
Humphrey Bower, once again, brings the characters to life with his amazing voice. For this reason, the audio book would be better than reading the book.
Murphy. What a great wit. He could make any serious situation funny with the "quick ones".
It is the reason I chose this book and he did his usual fantastic job of keeping me interested in the story through his many voices of the characters.
Murphy and his buds created many moments for me. My favorite was towards the end by the river.
I loved this book. The characters, the many voices, the story, and the wit. I hope Humphrey Bower reads more books.
