Oh So Hot Gossiper meets his Match

Have you heard the one about the straight guy, the bi guy and his ex-wife......? Well here it is served up impressively with drama and passion. Well crafted, with humour, angst and grit. I would've given it 5 stars for story, but thought the Bonus Chapter about Muffy trivialized an otherwise good clever story with good MCs.

Joel Leslie is very hard to beat as a narrator, doing all the voices perfectly and only fractionly camp in places. A good narrator makes all the differences to pacing and presentation of the story.

Very enjoyable and unusual tale. Book 2 is about Lloyd, so Book 3 here I come.

Loved L and Baboo

An amazing concept of writer and review critic. of course throw in an Ex who is out for revenge and you have a great book. Joel was exceptional.

Highly recommended

Omg this book is so so funny!I’m laughing out load in the airport/plane, it’s so hilarious. I absolutely love this narrator Joel Leslie. This is the first book with Joel narrating and I’m hoping there is more to come. Joel’s wit and personality shines through. Andrea and Eva are absolutely fantastic together writing. This book is definitely worth a read/listen. I highly recommend this book.

Funny. Damaged MCs

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Troy's letter to his psychiatrist, re. his stepfather's reaction to finding him kissing a boy when he was young, made me teary.

I hadn't read the book, so the story was totally unknown to me when I started listening. With Joel Leslie's narration I was quickly drawn in and he kept me hooked to the very end.

Joel is (in my opinion) a gifted voice actor, and he masters a variety of voices both male and female. I've listened to a number of books narrated by Joel, and he has thus far not disappointed me.

Muffy and Ida stole the show

I enjoyed the book but I didn't like Troy nor Larson. I hated the way Larson treated Lloyd. I listened to Guns Blazing and I love Lloyd. Troy's critique of Authors books was appalling. There's constructive criticism and there's The gospel according to Babu😞, he was too abrasive. I enjoyed the story however because it shows a lot about what Authors and reviewers go through in the book world. It was a compelling story that delve deeply into that world and I loved how the Authors portray it. I'm a big Joel Leslie fan and he outdid himself with this one, so many accents and emotions. I was given this audiobook by the Author and voluntarily left this review.

Fantastic

I have to say that Joel Leslie is one of my favourite narrator,but a good narrator does not make a good story.... This one though was perfect... I have listen to a lot of books 📚 and this one has it all... I laughed, I I felt sad and I felt anger... I did not want to put it down to sleep... Well I mean stop listening lol I listen to books more than read as I find it difficult so when a good book written by a fantastic author is put with a wonderful narrator .... Well happy ☺ me and I always want more! Thank you I'm going to listen to the net one now 😁

I've been wanting to read this for years!!

Okay, I have been dying to read this book for YEARS now. I am sooo glad I finally was able to read it, let alone listen to the audiobook (a format I've been seeking more often). I went in blind only knowing this was an M/M. I've only heard amazing things and I can officially say I only have good things to say. This was amazing! Definitely what you expect in an M/M and more! Definitely was A LOT of steam. Especially the elevator scene. HOLY COW!

Seriously, I've only got amazing things to say about this book. Narration was fantastic. I loved Troy & Larson!

5 Babu Stars

Aah. I have to say. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a new to me author, and listened to a new to me narrator. This book was that, and everything about it I loved, lots. I was cringing and laughing by the end of the first chapter, and it just got better and better. Both Babu and L were amazing, they had their issues, and even when Babu was being a total douche to L, I loved him. Apart they were burning hot, together they were explosive. Two alpha males who you would never put together. Some scenes even had me blushing a little with the off the charts chemistry and vivid writing. Narrated whole and perfectly by Joel Lesley, who had the sexy alpha male down pat. Not a bad thing to say about this book. I look forward to more, although I’m unsure how they’ll be able to top this.

Brilliant Story with Terrific Narration

I must admit when I started listening to this I wondered what I had got into. Did I really want to listen to two Alpha Males pitching against each other. The answer was yes I did. The back and forth narrative between pretentious literary critic Babu and self righteous author L.Blackburn was so well written and Joel Leslie really brought these characters to life. This is so much more than the usual MM, meet, fight, make up, live HEA story and I loved every minute of it. It was So So hot when they did get together.
Ada was my favourite secondary character, Joel's characterisation of her reminded me of the Golden Girls.
The bonus chapters made my day, so funny. Made a dull day a lot brighter.
