Dedica gran parte de su tiempo a promover el amor por la literatura a través de la red de bibliotecas infantiles y de distintos programas de animación a la lectura destinados a niños y a adultos, como el programa Jugando a Leer en Vallecas. Algunos la conocen como la dama del Ministerio de la Literatura Infantil y Juvenil.
