Summary

She's welcomed into the family, but will she survive them?

Dividing Line is the first installment in the Dividing Line series of crime audiobooks.

When Rachel marries Danny Maguire, younger son of the most powerful criminal family in Manchester, she thinks she can cope with his way of life. After all, he's the legitimate face of the family, isn't he?

When war breaks out between the Maguires and their deadly rivals, the Law family, Rachel is dragged into the criminal underworld, and she must turn her back on her old life and embrace this new, dangerous one if she is to survive. As the war increases in ferocity, Rachel discovers another woman inside herself, a strong, ruthless one who will stop at nothing to root out the traitors in the family's ranks and protect those she loves.

Great book

Loved this book.. the narrator wasn’t as awful as some reviews made out, I played it at 1.1 speed. The wrong pronunciation of words was a little annoying though & terrible Scottish accent 😂

Could have been good but for the narration

I might have enjoyed the story but the narration was dreadful.
If she is given the job of narrating a book then she should learn how to pronounce basic
English.

Try it at 1.3x speed

A good, fast paced story, badly let down by the slowest of deliveries. This is the one and only time I’ve adjusted the playback speed out of 500+ books.

Let down

What a shame. A reasonable story if you don’t mind plenty of violence but let down by the narrator speaking too slowly as if reading to a child with unnecessary pauses. Her pronunciations of certain words are comical for an Audible story narrator, saying “char grin” multiple times for “chagrin” for example.
