Dark, Devious and Delicious!
Are you in the mood for a enemies to lovers, dark romance? Well then I have found the book for you. This author team of Alta Hensley and Livia Grant have created the best erotic, dark romance for your ears! Meet Katja. A strong, beautiful business woman, married but unhappily and living her life to keep the family hotel legacy alive. When her husband unexpectedly dies though, trouble comes knocking. Debt. deceit and the devil are on her doorstep. When their parents died, Katja kicked out her childhood friend, Dex from the hotel. The longtime business arrangement between families now able to be severed, Katja wanted the hotel to have a clean, classic feel. No more business as the likes of Dex. But Dex has other plans. Now that she is single and in trouble, Dex is on the prowl and not just for Katja! Lynn Barrington and Michael Gallagher make a fabulous team! Barrington pulls out all the stops as Katja. Full of mixed emotions, she creates the strong willed, stubbornness and slow burning passion. Gallagher is a favorite, and as a dark, character, he is the best! Dex is dark and demanding, and the nuances in Gallaghers delivery are spot on! Loved this team and can't wait for the next book!

so dark, but so good
ok, this was a dark listen. hands down. but man, I was hooked. The narrators did a great job and really appeared to fit the characters, Everything about this listen was so much of everything. I could not put it down and refused to let anyone interrupt me. This was a fascinating story and I was able to get lost in it.

Clever, smart take one hat happens when the world up ends
Katja is the undeniable queen of the Manhattan Elite. Not only does she own the Whitney, a premier hotel in New York City, but she keeps (and documents) the secrets of the society elite. She is in a loveless marriage of convenience, until her husband suddenly dies in the arms of his mistress. She also discovers her deceased husband has been robbing her blind and leveraging the Whitney against his considerable debts.
Enter Dex. Dex is a childhood friend, and he and Katja grew up in the Whitney. Their fathers had a unique partnership, where one father ran and owned the hotel, the other was allowed to house his criminal friends there. When Katja’s dad dies, she decides to boot the criminal enterprise, including Dex. So when Dex re-enters Katja’s life, it comes with strings. He’ll save her hotel, but he wants nothing more than her complete submission to him. There is a cost and the price is high, but Katja is willing to pay it to save the Whitney. The problem is the price is high when your heart is on the line, and long-lost feelings and love creep in.
Alta Hensley and Livia Grant have written an intriguing book about love, loss, and second chances. Very enjoyable listen1

Dark Billionaire Romance
Devil's Contract by Alta Hensley and Livia Grant is a dark billionaire romance that I listened on audio narrated by Lynn Barrington and Michael Gallagher. This is the first book in the Dark Pen series and can be read as a standalone.
I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Katja and Dex. It was extremely messy, but you couldn't help but root for them. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Dirty Ledger to be released on audio so I can get Rowan and Z's story.
Michael and Lynn did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, billionaire romances, enemies-to-lovers romances, or contemporary romances.

What a great guy
I hate it when I don’t see the twist. This couple is a miss match from the start but they are perfect for each other. A brilliant performance really does help this book.

Dark and delicious
Dark, hot and intense - Katja's and Dex's relationship is complicated, to say the least, and there's so much friction between the billionaire princess and the crime lord. It IS dark, so read the trigger warnings, but I like the dual POV and getting the different worlds from their own views. I hope to get more of their story in Z's book.

Dark and Twisted Billionaire Story
Devil's Contract is a dark enemies to lovers romance! The story was intriguing and hooked me from the start. Childhood friends who's fathers were business partners, decisions made a few years prior that had a ripple effect with manipulation and revenge. Katja was left in a terrible position and had to beg Dex for help to save The Whitney. There are so many twists, secrets, and consequences to be given that I wanted to know what would happen next. Dex and Katja had great chemistry and plenty of spicy scenes once they went there.
Narrated by Lynn Barrington and Michael Gallagher - they were a great fit for this title and made this an enjoyable listen.

Good Listen
Katja wants nothing to do with Dex, but she needs him. He helps her when she doesn't want the world to know the mess of her life, although she knows all their secrets. Katja knows everyone's business but does not keep up with her own. Dex gets back into the hotel by clearing up Katja's debts and making her owe him. This starts a twisted relationship, which leads to crazy drama.
