Summary

Alan Fred Titchmarsh, after working as a professional gardener and a gardening journalist, managed to establish himself as a media personality through appearances on gardening programmes. Titchmarsh was appointed an MBE in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to horticulture and broadcasting.
