Summary

The second book in the Cait Morgan Mysteries brings overindulgent foodie and criminologist Cait Morgan to the vineyards of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. A world-famous vintner is dead. And when a heartfelt plea to look into the matter is paired with an exclusive gourmet event in BC’s stunning wine country, Cait Morgan cannot resist. She is sure the owner of the family-run vineyard was murdered. But her companion, Bud Anderson, is convinced that the woman took her own life. That is, until death strikes once again. Uncovering obsessions and murderous thoughts among the victim’s wacky neighbours is a start. But, as Cait unravels the clues, she realizes that more lives are at stake. Can she think, and act, fast enough to prevent another death?

Second book in and I am still not sure

Story is good and keeps you engaged to the end. But overall not sure if it’s annoying or fun. The performance could be more engaged with the story

Loved this fun book!

What a great listen. Wonderful characters. Love the down to earth nature of the lead character, what a refreshing change. The narration perfectly suited her!
Great story, great plots, all together a great book. Please put more onto audio!!
P.S. I played at 1.1 speed which better suited the book.

The Corpse with the Golden Nose

The is the second Caitlin Morgan mystery, using her unusual memory to track back what has been said and done. Read brilliantly again by Author Cathy Ace.

Please get a decent narrator

I enjoyed this story, even though I got a couple of the twists early on.
But the narrator… oh dear me. Her accents are dreadful - the worst Yorkshire imaginable, her characterisation of Ellen and Serendipity was very very poor, Colin the least believable teenage boy ever. This would have been so much better with an experienced voice actor - the story would have been so much more entertaining. Sorry Ms Ace you need to step back

Like the story, but awful narration

Cathy can write well, she should stick only to writing. She is not a voice actor and the narration is so bad it makes it painful to listen to. I am available for free to rerecord this 😂. I also am not an actor but could probably do a better job

Standard Murder Mystery Fare

If you can get past the narration and brush over the - I hate to say It, secondary school standard dialogue, it's an entertaining enough listen. The story is a tried & tested who done It, which is pleasant enough to get you to want to hear the end. Think of it as an episode of Murder She Wrote and you won't be disappointed!

It was good

At first I was unsure but after a few minutes and my brain adjusted to the south Wales welsh accent I was part of the story. Hope book 3 will be available on audible.

Lovely hero character

Like a modern day Agatha Christie - really liked the main character - lovely Sunday listen. The author narrates and she really draws you in
