Remembering nothing from the day before, crotchety octogenarian Paul Jacobson must become an amateur sleuth to clear himself as a murder suspect when he finds a dead body in the trash chute of a retirement home. As Paul's snooping and short-term memory loss get him in trouble with the local police, his new friends and granddaughter Jennifer help him solve an expanding list of crimes. What made the experience of listening to Retirement Homes Are Murder the most enjoyable?

What a great concept. This book was such a fun read. I couldn't put it away. I listened every chance I got. You will love this quirky take on a senior with memory loss who takes his life in his hands to solve a murder. I loved this book! Enjoy!

What other book might you compare Retirement Homes Are Murder to and why?

There is no other book like this. This story is unique and a fascinating take on Senior sleuthing.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When he would wake up every morning and have to begin figuring out who everyone was all over each day.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have listened to it all. It was difficult to put it down. I listened in the car to and from my destinations every day. I couldn't wait to get back to it.

    Any additional comments?

This author knows how to weave a tale. What a concept and to make it work so well.

    Story
    "Cute--but not my favorite--"

I enjoy light mysteries--and this looked like a fun listen. It was okay, just not my favorite.

The story had a few situations running through it (like the main character who lost his memory every night and had to daily re-learn everything that has been happening) that became kind of tedious. The narration was good, and this may be a good series for some, but not for me.

    "Not for me"

I found this story lacking in depth. I never felt connected to the characters and lost interest in the story.
