Summary

Tilling Green was a charming little village nestling in the Ledshire countryside. Not at all the sort of place you would expect to find an anonymous letter writer. And when one of the recipients, a young woman, was found drowned in the lake belonging to the Manor House, Miss Silver was persuaded to go and investigate. Valentine Grey, the pretty young heiress from the Manor House, was marrying one Gilbert Earle, but on the night of Valentine's pre-wedding party Jason Leigh, Valentine's former love, returned after months without a word. Valentine discovered Gilbert in a compromising situation with her guardian's wife. And several people received extremely nasty letters. Connie Brooks knew who had written those letters. But on the same night, she was murdered...

Someone is sending poison pen letters-how horrid!

Where does Poison in the Pen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top end of the middle of the list

What was one of the most memorable moments of Poison in the Pen?

At the end when the little boy is in danger- I held my breath !

Have you listened to any of Diana Bishop’s other performances? How does this one compare?

All of her Miss Silver stories, this one is in the middle of the pack

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Frank Abbott and Miss Silver genuinely care about each other's well being.

Any additional comments?

Do get this on audiobook but try one of the five star ones first - maybe The Case of William Smith or Dangerpoint.

Excellent!

One of Wentworth’s most tightly constructed plots with a variety of characters beautifully brought to life by Diana Bishop. Very enjoyable.

A lot of Poison

An Enjoyable and easy listen with a few twists too.
I became a little confused with the different voices. There was not enough difference in them.
Overall a good book. I might purchase some others. This is Book 29 of 32: in the series of Miss Silver Mysteries.
