Kelly pulled into the harbor parking lot next to the pier and noticed that Amber's car wasn't in its usual place, and there was no sign of her. She was usually standing at the door of Kelly's Koffee Shop, waiting for Kelly to open up. "Wonder what that's all about," she thought.
The local residents of Cedar Bay come to Kelly's Koffee Shop for breakfast, lunch, and lots of gossip. Kelly serves it all up as she works to solve the murder of the high school Homecoming Queen. The townspeople can't believe what has happened in their sleepy little Oregon seaside town. She identifies five prime suspects, but which one did it?
Follow Kelly; her boxer dog, Rebel; and her boyfriend, Mike, the county sheriff, as they try to determine who the killer is in a murder that's shocked the town. Kelly's Coffee Shop is a mouth-watering cozy mystery with recipes! Learn more about Dianne's other books at DianneHarman.com

"A Great First Installment!"
I enjoy this series because it's a very lighthearted & enjoyable cozy listen. Kelly seems to not being able to resist the urge to snoop when her goddaughter is found dead, and it lands her in some prickly situations. Her boyfriend Mike, the sheriff, follows police procedure and sticks to the resources he has, but at the end of the day it's no match for the wealth of information that Kelly can drum up from patrons of her coffee house. It was a great listen, and I look forward to book 2 in this series!
This is a great book; this is the first book in the Cedar Bay Mystery series written by Dianne Harman and narrated by Erin deWard. Kelly runs the Kelly’s Koffee Shop in Cedar bay. The local residents come to eat and gossip. When the high school homecoming queen is killed. Kelly, along with her dog, and boyfriend Mike, the local sheriff determine to solve the case.
The narrator Erin deWard did a great job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.
If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

down home mystery
The logical process of elimination with a twist.
Good again. Love her low voice and mesmerizing cadence.
Cried when the Sheriff Mike proposed. Kelly deserves a good man!
I've listened to other Dianne Harman books and this just felt like being with family again with Kelly and Mike!

"Haven't listened in order of the series"
I was surprised when the murderer was revealed.
Any scene with Kelly and Rebel
I've listened to parts of this series out of order but I can honestly say this book delivers an amazing story. I love how Kelly just happens to "fall" into the information to help Sheriff Mike with his murder case. I received this audio book for free with the agreement that I would give an honest review. I thought the narrator Erin deWard did a great job. I would listen to more of her books. This is the first in a series called A Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery. I will be looking forward to reading more in this series.

I really enjoy mystery books when they are done right, and this one sure was! The author created such a unique world, it was great getting lost in it. The characters were relatable and the narrator was easy to understand.
"Stilted dialogue, not realistic"
Am from the Oregon coast so was looking forward to the series. But after a couple hours couldn't finish. Setting and main character seemed interesting but too many times thought the conversation and things that happened just didn't ring true. Lots of books in this series so may be wrong, and this is just a formula cozy, not Shakespeare or Christie. Might just be a rough start, but found it reminded me too much of Joanne Fluke's strange and silly style.
I don't usually reveal spoiler info but here goes. This story has an interesting plot and characters. But the main character is just annoying. She makes promises to her boyfriend and others and then holds her hand behind her and crosses her fingers to make it alright to make it OK that she is lying and will not honor her promise. This was done over and over again and again. Way overboard. She owns a business and is not a teenager or a little kid and that trait is way to childish for a business woman. Also she is outright stupid to confront the suspects all alone (with her faithful dog of course). She seems so nice but has no problem taking credit away from her 'boyfriend policeman' for solving the crime and making him look like a fool. She also threw in a brand new character at the very end who was the murderer. The narrator did a very good job.
