Publisher's Summary

The Dreamslippers are a family of PIs who solve crimes using their ability to 'slip' into your dreams. But that isn't easy. In Framed and Burning, they have to defend one of their own. Someone sets fire to Mick Travers' art studio, killing his assistant, and Mick won't give an alibi. His sister is convinced he's innocent, but her granddaughter and the police aren't so sure. Was it really Mick, or is something even darker behind the fire?

    "Exciting and original"

This is the second Dreamslippers book I've heard and I enjoyed it every bit at much as the first. It has likeable characters, a great mystery and an interesting setting in the Miami art world. The narrator was great too. I mainly listen to audiobooks in the car and I actually found myself looking forward to long journeys while I was listening to this one. A very well-deserved Five Stars!

"A GOOD Game of Clue, with GREAT Characters!"
What did you like best about this story?

I received this book for an honest review and when I noticed that it was book 2 of the series I was hesitant because I haven't read or listened to book 1. After listening to Framed and Burning I will definitely be purchasing book 1. I liked the mystery, a true detective story that kept me guessing. I also LOVED all the characters! I really liked how the writer introduces each character allowing the reader to get a real since of who this character is by learning what they've been through in life.

    Story
    "Dreaming Family"

This was a well put together story. There was a murder. There was a heroine who wouldn't stop until the murder was solved. There was a wrongfully accused man. There were those with special talents. There was family history to learn about and explore. It just didn't grab me for some reason. I had a hard time feeling for the characters for some reason and this took away from getting invested in the story. In the end, it was just OK for me.

Again, the narration was serviceable with nothing to detract but for the first time in a long time a nice narration did not make up for my lack of involvement in the story.

I wish I could say something different about this listen but I am not able to at this time.

I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom! in exchange for an honest review.

    "A Fantastic Listen"
What made the experience of listening to Framed and Burning the most enjoyable?

I've been taking this book in chunks over the course of a week. It's a great story with strong characters, a compelling plot and well produced V.O.

What did you like best about this story?

The premise is really fantastic and seeing how the characters came together to overcome the gap that opens was exciting.

Have you listened to any of Patricia Morris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    I haven't.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt a strong sense of intrigue the whole way though.

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

This thriller, mystery , paranormal, a bit of romance takes you into the art world. Cat and Grace investigate with their " Dream Slipping," when artists studio burns and an artist dies. There are many suspects and lots of twists to get to the conclusion. A very interesting listen.

The narration was well done. The characters were excellently portrayed.

    "surprisingly good!!"

the story is interesting but I feel the story needed more character development. The narrator sounds too monotonous at times and the story seems to drags a bit. Overall it is a good and interesting concept about a family of detectives slipping into dreams to solve crimes.

"Narrator Truly Distracted From Value of Story"
What would have made Framed and Burning better?

Patricia Morris is so very monotone. I found myself so obsorbed in the flatness of her voice, continuously waiting for a change, that I'd miss portions of the book and need to go back.
It would have been helpful if the book focused more on the dream slipping. Much of the book centered on mystery and so little on the actual paranormal gift Cat and her family have.

Has Framed and Burning turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Patricia Morris is so flat and her accents are so forced that I found myself focusing on the reader not on the story. I wasn't able to fall into the world of the story. The mark of a truly great narrator is the ability to wrap you in the story so that you're not listening you're experiencing the book!

    Any additional comments?

I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
I would be very interested to relisten to this book with a different narrator.
