Summary

In this steamy novel by actor Stephen Collins, Nicolette Stallings - Nick - sees an attractive stranger across a restaurant. She's with a date; the stranger is with his wife. But when their eyes meet, Nick can tell he's trying to figure out a way to connect.

She'll make it easy for him - but hard too. It has to be that night. No names, a nearby hotel room. They'll never see each other again - which is the way Nick likes to play this game.

What she doesn't know is that this time she's met a man who'll flaunt her rules, violate her anonymity. Pushed to the brink, he'll take Nick with him. And when he's gone, she will stand alone...suspected of murder.

Critic reviews

"This novel of one individual coming to self-awareness is a modern morality play and a rite of passage into adulthood. Actor Collins, a gifted writer, has created a perfect first novel." ( Library Journal)

Walk away

Horrible. Save yourself the time and credit. Really tried to keep with it but couldn't bear it for long. The female lead character is dreadful and the descriptions of her motives and feelings contradict themselves frequently.
If you do get it and it improves then the idea behind the story is a good one
