Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a novel set in the not-too-distant future in the American Southwest, during a period of low-intensity civil war. The action takes place between Texas and California, but the story is mainly centered around New Mexico. Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a sequel to Enemies Foreign and Domestic, but it may be enjoyed on its own.

"I am getting the series there's 3 books."
I fully enjoyed the story and the characters. This is a author who'll be having more audio books produced soon I would think. The narrator was perfect somehow I see all this with a strong southern accent for characters at least most. I look forward to more. Hopefully soon.
There's a 3rd book in this series I have it on kindle but would prefer audio.
"good listen - more twists than a country road"
Unlike a lot of Patriot Fiction this is very well written with a good plot and character development
Looking forward to the next one
"Possible and probable"
It reminded me of another book I read awhile back called
"The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century " It's quite frightening to think, but I believe this is where the country is headed. I think Mr. Bracken is doing a great service by putting these scenarios in fictional settings, it will open a few peoples eyes to what is going on around them. That is what I like best about the story
Yes, it is plausible and believable..
Little Brians assistance in the escape.
Read for #3....I like Mikes voice, but his narration seems somewhat amateur ..still I like it..
"Great story, TERRIBLE narration."
Overpriced audio book
Halting narration, monotone voice, repeats words, mispronunciations, etc... My 10 year old nephew reads aloud so much better than this its not even a fair comparison. I can't believe this guy gets paid to read stories aloud for audiobook sale. Unbelievable. Very disappointing.
I wanted to listen all in one sitting, but couldn't stand to listen to the narrator for more than a half hour at a time.
Great plot line, character development, good pace, etc, but considering the Audible audio file is almost twice as expensive as the paperback version, its WAY overpriced. I bought the paperback version of the first book (Enemies Foreign and Domestic) and loved it, so I sprang for the audio version of the sequel. I'll be buying the paperback version of the third installment. I will not buy another audiobook narrated by this individual. Ever. I might actually buy a Kindle for the price of the Kindle versions and to avoid bad narration in the future. Almost ruined the story for me.
"Excellent story ruined by terrible narration"
Storywise - nothing as it's an excellent story! Fortunately, I have previously read the Enemies Trilogy and the Bracken Anthology, and found them first-rate - that's why I purchased the audiobooks.. Unfortunately and due solely to very bad narration, the audiobook is simply unlistenable - I couldn't even make it through two (2) minutes of listening (and I tried several times)!
Realism, both in terms of characters and probability of events.
WORST NARRATION EVER - A DEAF-MUTE WITH A SIGN LANGUAGE STUTTERING PROBLEM, WOULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB!
THE AUDIOBOOK DEFINITELY EVOKED BOTH ANGER AND SADNESS IN THAT TERRIBLE NARRATION RUINED WHAT SHOULD/WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT LISTENING EXPERIENCE!
GO BACK AND RE-RECORD WITH A GOOD STORY TELLER! I'M GETTING MY MONEY BACK ON THIS ONE BUT IF/WHEN IT'S RE-RECORDED USING A GOOD NARRATOR, THEN I'LL RE-PURCHASE AND LISTEN AT THAT POINT IN TIME!
Mr Brackens books should be made into movies. The narrators voice is perfect for telling this story. Don't listen to other reviews regarding the narration. I've read all his books and I am working on listening to them all on audible. I wish there were more in the EFD story.
"Such a great story. Couldn't put it down!"
Deep story line, twists, lots of action. It's scary how the story mirrors what is happening in the headlines today.
Extremely well researched. Author is obviously a lifelong student of the subject matter. Thank you Matt Bracken for sharing your insight.
loved it good connection from first to second in series. felt like I knew them.
The story is excellent! The audiobook of book 1 is barely tolerable but got better on books 2 and 3.
Too low budget and unrefined.
Yes. Extreme patriotism.
Matt Bracken is a genius
