From the author of the international best seller Go the F--k to Sleep comes a book about the other great parental frustration: getting your little angel to eat something that even vaguely resembles a normal meal. Profane, loving and deeply cathartic, You Have to F--king Eat breaks the code of child-rearing silence, giving new, old, grand- and expectant parents a much-needed chance to laugh about a universal problem.

These are just great fun - if you have kids, you have thought at least half of this yourself!! :) Worth a couple of quid for this and the partner book (don't use a credit they are cheap!) Go the **** to sleep is just as good - the Super star Authors just make it even more hilarious.. More... More please!! How about potty training next? - We are going through that one at the moment and there is much hilarity to be had I think with that subject :D
Audible is a whole new world of interest, delight, insight, and hilarity! I don't know how I'd live without it!
Exactly how my children were and how I felt at eating times! Hilarious!
Brilliantly read to by the ever dependable Fry! Perfect!
I'm still feeling these books. My daughter is still going through this stage and it's beyond frustrating, so it's good to laugh about it and realise others have the same thoughts.
I have always enjoyed the simplicity and genius that is combined in children's literature and rhyme and with this (and Mansbach's other, no less excellent release) there is finally an edition for adults as well. What swayed me to purchase this release was the added joy of Stephen Fry as the narrator. Excellent audio book, very entertaining. I can recommend this to anyone who has a good sense of humour and is not easily offended. Great comedy which I think new and unsuspecting parents may particularly appreciate, however even without having kids and the experiences that go along with them yourself this should still get a chuckle out of you here and there. Highly recommend!
Something about yourself!
At less than ten minutes long, it would be difficult not to!
If you've already experienced Mansbach's hilarious 'Go The F--k To Sleep' then this is really just the same joke transposed to slightly different circumstances. For me, this second book was unresistable, though, as I'm a huge fan of Stephen Fry, and his narration is as delightful as you'd expect.
Well here we are addressing the second great mystery, how does such a metabolically demanding creature survive and grow and develop a brain capable of comprehending quantum physics... without ever apparently taking in sustenance? How can a toddler be awake and screaming loud enough to set off car alarms, powered by half a packet of quavers and some furry raisins they found under the sofa at half two in the afternoon?
As title, great short story, one I empathise with having two small fussy eaters myself. Bit of a shame the alternative reading by Samuel L Jackson isn't available in the UK however.
