The Liberal Rednecks - a three-man stand-up comedy group doing scathing political satire - celebrate all that's good about the South while leading the Redneck Revolution and standing proudly blue in a sea of red.
Smart, hilarious, and incisive, the Liberal Rednecks confront outdated traditions and intolerant attitudes, tackling everything people think they know about the South - the good, the bad, the glorious, and the shameful - in a laugh-out-loud funny and lively manifesto for the rise of a New South. Home to some of the best music, athletes, soldiers, whiskey, waffles, and weather the country has to offer, the South has also been bathing in backward bathroom bills and other bigoted legislation that Trae Crowder has targeted in his Liberal Redneck videos, which have gone viral, with over 50 million views.
Perfect for fans of Stuff White People Like, I Am America (and So Can You), and Dear White People, The Liberal Redneck Manifesto skewers political and religious hypocrisies in witty stories such as the Ten Commandments of the New South and much more! While celebrating the South as one of the richest sources of American culture, this entertaining audiobook issues a wake-up call and a reminder that the South's problems and dreams aren't that far off from the rest of America's.

A brilliant eye-opener about the modern South as told by three sons of Dixie. Funny, honest, insightful and well balanced between its twin themes: pride and shame. Relatable because the authors are liberals; challenging because they don't hide their pride in their homeland and don't make excuses for any of it. Now drink your latte Tristan
From a Southern British Redneck, it hits and keeps on hitting. If you are British and confused to the hitting reference, just download and remember our cousins are damn wonderful. it hits.
"Must read for all Americans"
Especially northern liberals. I'm a college-educated middle class liberal woman from small town New England and this book called me out on my bullshit, most of which I was completely unaware. The authors are first and foremost funny AF. They are also intelligent, informed, self-deprecating, fiercely proud and brutally honest. And hearing their own voices has helped to dispel my preconceptions associated with the Southern accent. In fact, these smart-talking boys sound sexy as hell! More important, their message must be heeded by the American "left," which judging from 2016 election needs to come down from its high horse and get some correctly fitting britches. I sincerely hope the Liberal Rednecks can help pull Dixie out of the dark, but they have already succeeded in shining a light for this Yankee.
These guys nailed it. It was funny, and downright hilarious in places. But it was also thought provoking and well researched. The history and social commentary is actually what makes this book worth checking out. The humor--and there is quite a lot of it--is just icing on the cake.
As a displaced Southerner living in NYC, I absolutely loved this audio book. It made me miss home. A lot.
The language was a bit coarse and too yellow at times, but I got over it.
We have a lot of work to do and this book made me want to head back home to do my part.
"Could use a few more like this"
This audiobook, read by the comedians themselves, was funny, intelligent, and surprisingly informative. Trae jokes about saving some stuff for the memior... I'd read it.
If you are a fan of the Liberal Redneck or you aren't this book is for you. Read by the authors in their thick southern drawls makes listening to this book way better than reading it. It is hilarious, smart, sad, honest, and hopeful all at once. These comedian/authors are whip smart and as down home as the come. They explain southern culture in a way even us "damn Yankees" will understand. A must have for people who love the south, hate the south, but more importantly don't understand the south. Wish it was 10 hours longer and will look forward to any books by these guys in the future.
"Perfect for the Trump era"
Love these dudes. Perspective on stuff I had and hadn't heard before. Time to try to understand each other better--I think this book helps in that way.
"First book I've ever pre-ordered"
Love hearing a book in a genuine southern accent! Smart, funny, true. Couldn't stop listening!
"Enjoyed the book immensely"
Enjoyed the book immensely. Really gave insight in a humorous way the issues effecting the South. I have been following the Liberal Redneck for awhile now and was excited that there was a book. It definitely gave me some things to think about. The narration was excellent as well. Enjoyed all of them. Thank you for writing this.
"Funny and heartfelt"
I enjoyed their preformance.
Too hard to choose. All three are great.
When Trae talks about his relationship with his mother and how his views have softened when it comes to addicts.
I laughed, I cried, I love this book. I couldn't put it down. I found my tribe.
