Danger to other motorway users
I nearly had to stop driving several times on a ten-hour drive to north of Inverness due to outbursts of hysterical laughter - and once there, would have had to drive around the whole of Loch Shin to finish the last story, had I not started it early enough in the journey. Brilliantly and sympathetically read, so that the stories are immediately as comforting and familiar as an old friend - and at the same time as fresh and funny as if just written. As timeless and brilliant as ever; - should be added to school curriculum as all other humour can be measured by this benchmark

Good old Jeeves
Another great Jeeves audio book. Something light and enjoyable to listen to as you pass the time. Whenever I want something jolly and easy to listen to I turn to Bertie & Jeeves to lighten the day. Well read and very enjoyable. If you like to listen to old fashioned first world problems and laugh at the scrapes Bertie gets into this is for you

Same stories as in The Inimitable Jeeves
I love Jeeves and Wooster but was very disappointed that this book contains many of the same stories as "The Inimitable Jeeves". More than half of the stories are repeats!

Feel good, laugh out loud stories
Very easy listening, likeable characters, entertaining stories. Cecil's portrayals of Jeeves and Bertie are on point.

Jonathan Cecil narrates a perfect Bertie Wooster
Age 58, England I'm a late-comer to Jeeves & Wooster and bought these to pep up the car journey to and from work.
There are others who speak these books but Jonathan Cecil is absolutely spot on, and to this extent the spoken book is better than TV adaptations and also reading the real book.
Example.
Carry on Jeeves - Chapter 8 - Fixing it for Freddy. There's a scene where Jeeves has visited the Cinema giving him an idea to resolve a situation. Bertie is 'a trifle frosty' with him. The dialogue and emphasis is wonderfully done by Wodehouse & by Cecil narrating as he has to do both the young master and Jeeves.
10/10
Beautifully written gentle humour taking one back to a nicer place.

Very good (sir).
Tremendous fun. The not very bright Bertie Wooster is very likable in his upper class foppish antics. And Jeeves is, well Jeeves. Not like any other literary character. An absolutely delightful audiobook.
Jonathan Cecil reads Bertie as the upper class twit that he is, but still in a way that you can't help but love him. And Cecil's narration as Jeeves is nothing short of fantastic. Dry, correct and very true to my vision of the perfect Gentleman's Gentleman.

This book is a good egg
Dash it, I was listening to this audiobook and engaging the old lemon, when I realised to my amazement that a couple of the short stories were in fact repeats of those one had already heard on similar such audio recording in the same series. Now, I'm not one to quibble, but when a hard earned credit has gone on a new book one expects it to be 100 fresh and dandy.
That being said, this collection of short stories was marvelous to behold, and exquisitely narrated being something that even aunt Agatha herself could settle in for an evening and raise a few chuckles.
If the above doesn't make it clear enough, this is still Wodehouse at his best. All the short stories are Jeeves and Wooster, however there are about 3 which I had to skip as they were in one of the earlier books I'd listed to with the same narrator (sorry I can't confirm which book as I have listened to about 7 in the series). They all have names per chapter here but when I heard them before it wasn't titled in the same way so wasn't clear these were duplicates. The stories are each enclosed and can be enjoyed separately but the main characters do go through changes and I feel the best way to experience Bertie Wooster's hijinks is in order, since you will have the history of each character and Bertie's involvement before. If you do jump in here though you won't feel lost.
I'd recommend this to anyone who likes Wodehouse or the like.

This is a story that's had it's time
This is a story that's had it's time and that time was quite a while ago.
It turns out I'm not a fan. I thought I would be and gave it a try, but no, not for me.
I'm struggling to see why so many people rate this highly. The performance is good, but the story is so dated and not particularly well written.
It was so dull, repetitive and predictable that I never got to the end. Maybe that's where all the good stories were!

A pure delight !
The trouble with a lot of audiobooks is that they simply have the wrong type of voice for the narration of the particular book or the narrator simply can't narrate the story properly. The world of Bertie and Jeeves is a long past world of hereditary and decidedly, white, Anglo - Saxon entitlement and privilege written large .This is not a world of meritocracy and the unwashed masses, but the small world of the well heeled and socially well connected, English upper classes pre World War I / the early 20th century. This was a world of cheap, plentiful and economically vulnerable domestic servants, large country houses, lots of money and plenty of time for mindless idleness, socialising and partying amongst themselves. The narrator, Jonathan Cecil, comes from the same English upper class background as Bertie and also went to Oxford. He is therefore, perfectly able to get into Bertie's mindset and convincingly narrate the story and vividly portray all the other protagonists, but at all times with his tongue firmly in cheek ! This was a complete delight and joy to listen to and Jonathan Cecil's narration brings to life to P.G. Wodehouse's very English, mischievous, but worldly naive, school boy humour of a bygone age. Highly recommended.

My funny bone wasn't tickled
To my surprise I did not find these stories as funny or entertaining as I expected. I had enjoyed the 1960s series with Ian Carmichael and Denis Price and also the the reincarnation in the early 80s with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. Maybe it is the zeitgeist of the present time but over--privileged fools and scoundrels getting away with their japes reminds me too much of the present UK government to be funny.
The narrator is excellent.
