Deep among the Swedish pines lies the fantastical world of the trolls. More often than not, these kindly creatures keep themselves to themselves, but this summer is different.
Ten-year-old Poppy's school holidays are transformed when she befriends the young troll Baggledorf at the forest lake near her Grandpa's cottage. Baggledorf is a chunky, hairy, but cuddly individual with a few vile habits, and many exciting hobbies. The fun-loving troll introduces Poppy and her dog, Fred, to quarry cloud racing, deep-forest grass boarding, and pine-tree sliding.
In summer rains and summer sun, from above and below the dense forest canopy, Poppy falls in love with Baggledorf's world. But amidst the wonder is an undercurrent of mischief, as the BEB (Bog-end Belchers) plot Baggledorf's downfall. The BEB are a bunch of notorious trolls, who burp, fart, drop litter, and are fanatical about the prestigious troll sport of Bog Wrestling.
This year, Baggledorf has the honour of organising the yearly Bog Wrestling event at the Troll Summer Festival. Unsurprisingly, this prestigious appointment has invited the envy and anger of the Bog-end Belchers. The trouble begins when the BEB plot Baggledorf's disgrace. The plot culminates at the Troll Summer Festival, when mayhem breaks out under the frosty glare of the famous Bog Wrestling judge, Mr. Tuganpullem. As the web of forest intrigue unfolds, Poppy is left to save Baggledorf's good name.

My little boy loves this imaginative story! Cannot imagine a child, boy or girl who wouldn't love this! More from this author please!!
Great book for children (5 - 8 year olds i'd say best) and Adults to listen to together in a car journey
Baggledorf is a hit with our children - this beautifully told story brings the charming and funny Baggledorf to life and into the living room.
Already looking forward to the next release.
There is an innocence to this book which is simply adorable, the narration is excellent and the whole sound of it evokes the experiences I had on summer holidays when I was a child.
We listened to Baggledorf in the car on the way to the Cotswolds. The place we stay at has a lake and copse nearby and this book has the children all excited about grass boarding and tree sliding.
There are of course some subtle messages for the children (well all of us really) amongst the adventures and fun.
I have and will be recommending this book to anyone with kids, in the mean time I'm off to buy some slugs to wax my grass board!
Amazing how my kids were busy during the trip.
"Going to Sweden"
Going to take my 7 grandchildren to Sweden next summer, this is in the iPod for the journey. Nice to see a kids book that has a more social message.
"best book for my 7 grandsons they've had!"
What a great book, I read it to my grandsons aged up to 11 ( they wanted it again, and again, and again ... one of those!) quite unusual as they are usually hooked up to their playstations! Can recommend it
"Perfect for all the family"
A lovely, innocent and amusing story that is a great listen if you and your kids are heading off for a vacation.
I purchased this for my 4 year-old and he has listened to it countless times. Narrator has a wonderful accent.
"A great Listen"
Great Story, and the sounds that accompany Baggledorf through his adventures really are top class - even the music is worth listening to - my kids have ben listening to it over and over again.
My 2 sets of twins (ages 6 and 9) loved this book.
Its a must read / listen.
