天使たちの楽園である天界に不穏な空気が流れ始める。
もともと平等であった天使たちに、大神ゼウスは、上位、中位、下位というランク付けを行い、能力による序列を成す。このランク付けに端を発し、心貧しい天使は、天使でありながら上位の天使を妬み、争う者まで現れ始めた。
その最中において、ゼウスはさらに上級天使の中から、理性を持たぬ動物たちを属性ごとに支配する六聖獣を選ぶという。
天界の現状に心を痛めるゴウ、シン、レイ、ガイ、大神ゼウスの愛に疑念を抱くユダとルカ、異端とされる出生に悩み続けるキラとマヤ、そして、ユダを愛するが故にユダが愛するシンを妬むシヴァ。
伺い知ることの出来ないゼウスの意思に、上級天使であり、六聖獣候補９人のそれぞれの心が交錯する。
そして、心に暗黒を持つ者だけがその在処を見出せるという「暗黒の森」が、少しずつ、その姿を現し始める－。
