Fairly good overall

His reading is good and the content is definitely worthwhile. My only criticism is that the book is so long and drawn out. The content I do believe could have been reduced.
Overall worth a read!

An effective way to cover a leadership essential

Would you listen to The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People again? Why?

Yes - I think I would probably need to listen a couple of times to get the most from it - like many good stories there is always more to hear from a retelling. However it can get a bit repetitive and heavy going so I would want the ability to dip in and out.

What other book might you compare The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to, and why?

I'm only just starting to use audiobooks from leadership development point of view - I don't have a big enough personal library to make a meaningful comparison

Have you listened to any of Stephen R. Covey’s other performances? How does this one compare?

NO

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No - it's too long to begin with. I listened while driving to work & was able to stop and start without losing too much, though I have to listen to small chapters again from time to time

A must read

I have read the actual book twice before. Listening to it helped me to get a better understanding. One of those books that everyone should try to read. Provides knowledge understanding which in turn empowers the reader/listener.

Common sense codified.

This book is one of those that is often sneered at as one of those "management" books irritating people read. I think that would do it an injustice. Sometimes you need to be told common sense. You know it but cannot find the words to articulate it or understand why what you do makes sense. I might call it a "kick-self" book. You will read it and kick yourself that you DID know it. I can't accept the religious aspects however but that is very rarely talked about in the book.

All you need to be better

Amazing. A revelation.
Breaks down how to take control of your life, decide what you want, how to prioritise to achieve it, how to discover a better way with others, how to listen, how to work better with others, how to pull it all together..
But no quick fixes here, a principle centred review and shift of your outlook. I read (/listen) once a year!

Great Book

The book has answers to so many difficult questions!
He mentioned his religion in the last chapter as his personal anchor, but that didn’t interfere or affect the quality and the honesty of the advice. Highly recommend.
