This book was an excellent resource when I needed to brush up on non-profit formation. for a "rookie" like me, it did a great job of informing me of all of the information I needed, as well as when I might need to seek more professional assistance.

Great advice and it worked.
I used this book and successfully created my non-profit. His recommendations and advice are spot on. I particularly like the by laws template and took his advice to write ours. A great product, thanks to the author!

Easy to follow.
This book was recommended by a friend who used a this book to start her nonprofit and I must say it's been a life saver. The information is laid out in a clear and understandable format so that even someone who is more interested in establish a nonprofit organization than dealing with paper work can figure it out! Recommend to everyone who asks about nonprofits.
I didn't know anything about forming nonprofit organization and this book taught me everything I needed to know to get going. I am frequently asked how to start a nonprofit by friends and I always just point them to this book. Even if you intend to use a lawyer to incorporate, this book will educate you on the things you need to know to understand the process.

How to Form a Nonprofit Corporation is the simplest, straight-forward, plain English help available for groups trying to organize themselves as a tax-exempt non profit organization! Knight gives clear real-life examples and self tests to determine which of a plethora of options is the right one for your org., as well as suggested language to satisfy every scrutinous section in your exemption application. Don't even THINK about trying to go at it without this book at your side.

Very happy with this purchase!
In brief, this book helped me go from 0 to 60 in working through the non-profit application process. Not only is it very listenable, but it offers excellent tips along the way. I've also been impressed that it does more than just help you do the paperwork, but it also helps you think through the who, what, where, when, why and how of your organization---all items that are crucial for long term success. If you are just starting out on this journey, I recommend this resource.

Very Helpful.
Anyone who is thinking about forming a nonprofit organization, should consider purchasing this book. It is very comprehensive and detailed on each Section, Article and Number you will encounter on the state and federal forms. It will get you through getting an EIN number, your Articles of Incorporation, By Laws that will pass government scrutiny. It is a painful long process but this book is a very helpful friend to have along.

Best I've seen.
This is the best book I've seen on the subject which is written to and for the layperson. You may still need an attorney and some help with IRS, but there is much you can do yourself and in any event, it will help to have started out in the right direction.
