Worth a listen

I listened to this mostly because of the pretty cover and the provocative title. I just had to see what it had to offer. It was interesting, open and entertaining. The writing itself is nothing to write home about, but the author was pretty good at narrating, and not all authors are.
As for the contents, well. The author is into sex enough to make it his career, and it's definitely a very huge part of his life, therefore, his perspective and life experiences are interesting, and people who live differently, like me, can broaden their thought horizons by reading about the author's wild sex life. We definitely need more sex positivity in society, but I personally would draw the line on disregarding protection. Maybe it's just me. Call it calculated risks or whatever, but non-monogamous people spreading STIs left and right just because they can go get antibiotic treatments are not that cool, in my opinion. Because there will always be people down the line who are not that lucky. Peiple's imunity is worsening, and resistance to antibiotics is becoming more common. The more of them you take, the less effective they are. So I don't think not wrapping it up with strangers is the right thing to do.
That aside, I do commend the effort put in this book to destigmatize sex, STI's, sexualities and relationship types.

Into it

Funny, insightful, life-affirming. I’d have appreciated some more depth to the discussion of feminist critiques of mainstream porn and marriage - but tbf not sure I’d wanna sacrifice any of the hot anecdotes! Very, very enjoyable. Loved the reading too.

A bit disappointing

I enjoyed the early chapters about the author’s life as a confused child and adolescent. After that, it descended into a bit of a diatribe about the nuances of progressive thinking and the author’s views on endless definitions of gender/sex. Lots of filler and surprisingly little regarding the endless unique experiences hinted at in the introduction.

Not so much a manifesto but a brag

As a bisexual man exploring issues that are covered in this book, this seems like the perfect read. I will say that Zachary is clearing having fun reading his book to you and that's always a plus when listening to an audiobook. The book however is ultimately a massive brag from Zachary, his conquests, numbers and experiences are gleefully repeated ad nauseam and ultimately serve no purpose to help the reader. While I applaud Zachary's work, his life and celebrate sluts everywhere I just don't think it makes for an interesting book -- worse still I think his brags have been misleadingly presented to us as a manifesto. Worse still, while Zachary is aware of some elements of his privilege, the affluent elephant in the room is that he comes from enormous wealth privilege and this seems to have escaped him completely. It's frustrating to listen to three hours of a rich person talking about how hard their life was, never mind six hours. As for any semblance of relatability, you soon learn that Zachary has severe OCD, now he's done a fantastic job of managing this but with a wealth of support unavailable to most people. When his experiences are framed through his OCD, it's not exactly the same experience as your average slut.

I'd love to see more books on this topic written by men and masc people, but this not-so-humble brag is not the one.
