Summary

This second book in New York Times best-selling author R. A. Salvatore’s all-new Forgotten Realms trilogy - full of swordplay, danger, and imaginative thrills - features one of fantasy’s most beloved and enduring characters, Drizzt Do’Urden.

Split between time and two worlds, Zaknafein had always been conflicted. That inner turmoil was magnified by his inferior position as a male dark elf in the matriarchal drow society. Only his status as one of the greatest warriors - as well as his friendship with the mercenary Jarlaxle - kept him sane. When he finally perished, he was content knowing he left behind a legacy as substantial as his son, Drizzt.

Except...someone isn’t ready for Zaknafein to be dead. And now he’s back, hundreds of years later, in a world he doesn’t recognize. His son’s companions are not the prideful - and bigoted - males the drow warrior was accustomed to in his previous life. Drizzt’s circle includes dwarves, elves, and, perhaps worst of all, a human wife.

Struggling to navigate this transformed new world, Zaknafein realizes that some things have not changed: the threat of demons and the machinations of a drow matron no longer content with her family’s position in the ranks of Houses.

Though he has been displaced in time, Zaknafein is still a warrior. And no matter what prejudices he must overcome, he knows he will do his duty and fight by Drizzt’s side to stem the tide of darkness that threatens the Realms.

Boundless indeed

I read my first Drizzt novel (The Crystal Shards) when I was 12 years old. Drizzt (and Mr Salvatore) have seen me through the dark times and wonderful moments of my life. A constant source of adventure and enjoyment. Boundless continues that wonderful journey I started 32 years ago.....Drizzt is still young and I hope to be reading about him for many more years💪❤️

Torn

It was always going to be hard listening to a series I have been reading for nearly 20 years. While the narrator done an excellent job telling the story, there were just a few accents my mind couldn't get around. Most were fine and never troubled me but Breuneor and Regis's accents were so far off from what I had in my mind that it distracted me greatly for alot of the story.

No one really dies.

Narrator kept this story alive, so 4/5 from that.
Drizzt books has been my favourites from year 2000. Zaknafein return is great thing, I love it, but still something is missing.
I dont like one thing. Every hero, who has died in past Years, seem to rewrited to be alive again, no one really dies.
when they come back, they are again young and super persons, what they were before they died...Regis is now a good fighter, ok he was pussy before, but come on, hes a size of a child, and kills like a terminator.
Still this story is readable, and I want to read/listen every story from Drizzt, Zaknafein, Jarlaxle, Artemis Entreri etc. specially Entreri..Who seems to live too forever, even hes ageing slower than other people.
