Summary

In this latest instalment of the number one New York Times best-selling series, FBI Agent Pendergast faces the strangest, most challenging puzzle of his career, when bodies - drained to the last drop of blood - begin appearing in Savannah, GA.

A fabulous heist: on the evening of November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked Flight 305 - Portland to Seattle - with a fake bomb, collected a ransom of $200,000, and then parachuted from the rear of the plane, disappearing into the night...and into history.

A brutal crime steeped in legend and malevolence: 50 years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins - sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

A case like no other: As the mystery rises along with the body count, Pendergast and his partner, Agent Coldmoon, race to understand how - or if - these murders are connected to the only unsolved skyjacking in American history. Together, they uncover not just the answer...but an unearthly evil beyond all imagining.

Loved it 😁

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The Pendergast series is one of my favourites. I especially liked the narrator who brought this book to life. I found Constance Green sounding like Morgan Freeman hilarious. Loved it. Keep them coming guys

Please change the narrator!

I'm sorry to say, but the narrator did not do a good job on this book. His Constance was apalling, he made her sound loud and unrefined. Also the tone and intonation of his voice was not distinct enough between reading a character's lines and then narrating so much so that it all blurred together and I felt like I'm listening to someone read off of a boring essay that they didn't much care about. Please choose a different narrator for the next book!🙏🏻

It is less than I expected

Please note I love these writers…
Every series…
The early cases were deep and fear inducing with a touch of supernatural mystery that really swept you away and the previous book with the mysterious feet was back on par but I felt kind of cheated with this one.
While I don’t expect the usual twists and turns from these masterful writers and nor should you, I do expect a certain amount of edge of reality where as I received a dose of ‘ brace yourself Eidith… this is going to smart a bit’ . I know I’m being vague as I also know others will completely enjoy this foray into my favourite universe and to that I wish to give nothing of the story away.
“ I love you guys and will excitedly await the next instalment “ but please use your amazing ability for twists and turns to stay roughly in the edges of our reality. I certainly know I’m no expert on that which is possible but with this series I love the fact that you blur lines and not blow mind.
This was directly to the writers more than for my fellow journeymen as I know others in this “ fellowship of the port Cochere” with love this read.

The narrator is awful, can’t listen, will have to buy the actual book instead.

The book and series are amazing but they have changed the narrator and it just doesn’t work for me unfortunately.

Don’t like narrator

Wish I had read the reviews first. So so so disappointed. Didn’t realise how much that sucess of the book depended on the Narrator! I miss Rene!! Can’t listen anymore.
