The acclaimed biography of the early church's greatest evangelist, the Apostle Paul. Master storyteller John Pollock makes Paul and his amazing story freshly alive, so that you can know the greatest apostle much as Luke and Timothy did as they traveled with him. As you listen, you'll sense Paul's motives, his aims and priorities; what mattered to him; and what he was willing to die for.

A detailed in depth look at Paul. Easy to listen to. You could almost feel you were with him as he walked through the streets.
The accurate history makes Paul come alive.
As someone who has had a fascination with Paul for a while but simply not intelligent enough to grasp his philosophical writings and teachings I was thrilled to find this book/audiobook where I could listen to a thoroughly researched and understood journey of one of the most important figures of Christian and indeed world history.
I got to go on Pauls journey, understand him as a person, understand the cultural context of his teaching and letters understand where and why there are controversies in his teaching, potentially what he was really talking about especially around the role of women in the church and the context around his statements on homosexuality. I feel very much I now understand the person of Paul and the pain and suffering he endured in pursuit of redemption for himself before his Lord Jesus and relentless fervour and zeal to bring the Gospel to all people.
I would recommend this book to anyone within or outside the Christian faith who is looking for insight to the apostle to the Gentiles (non-Jews) a Pharisee who had Christians killed and sought to destroy the fledgling church turn pioneer apostle, who considered himself the least of the apostles but the hardest working.
"The Story of Paul the Apostle"
This Audiobook brought the story of Paul and the Apostles to life for me. Although I have heard and read the scripture all my life, Kirby Heyborne read the story with such feeling that the words of John Pollock and the Bible gave me the feeling that I was an eye witness to our Christian heritage.
"Excellent Account of Paul's journeys"
I've spent nearly 40 years reading and studying the Bible. I have a ThM - Master of Theology, MDiv - Master of Divinity, and a BA in Christian Thought. I am currently teaching high school Bible at a Christian school. I found myself enthralled with the author's retelling Paul's story from Damascus to Rome in a way I've longed to hear it. I found myself making time to listen to this audiobook and finished it in just a few days. The reader did an excellent job telling it.
"Christ for all"
I really enjoyed the strength and tenacity of Paul. The clear vision as well as the energy, clarity, and courage of Paul are very encouraging to us as Christians today
The many historical aspects of the story
I have actually read the book and the book I feel is better than the audio book
The story is a real expansion upon the person as well as the thought process of the apostle Paul. The audio cause me to really consider my daily walk with Christ
I thought this was an excellent book I would recommend it to all Christians as a book about the thoughts, character, courage, and dedication of a true Christian saint.
"Not really an engaging novel"
I expected more of a personal perspective in this, as one being able to walk in the same shoes, feeling the emotions of Paul... To me it was more of a distanced commentary on Paul's life. The info was good, and the author tried to stay very close to the Scriptures. This is good in a sense, but to those already familiar with the Scriptures and who are looking for "an adventure" with Paul, you won't really find that here. At lest that is my opinion.
"Paul my Hero....."
Rates at the very top...
Helps you know Paul more than any other book.
Makes Paul a real person that you could know.
Both, Paul is my favorite Bible character and hero but now he feels more human to me.
Not finished listening to it yet so more comments later.
"Inspiring and Accurate!"
An amazing work that captures the awe inspiring life of suffering and driven ambition of Paul to stand as an ambassador to Christ and the Gospel. Great listen!
"This was an excellent book"
Historically Enlightening and in Plain English. Great storytelling could have been read with more enthusiasm.
a story for the ages. no doubt a cornerstone of Christian literature. I found myself feeling like one of Paul's companions. Most importantly, my reading of the new testament epistles can never be the same. Finally, thank you all who made this experience possible.
"Paul: The Apostle - astounding history"
incorporating history into my faith and biblical understanding has been a powerful tool. This account is very well written and read.
Energized and humbled....
I really liked this book. I think it was well written and performed. I learned a lot.
