Summary

Originally published as Little Lies.

Pirriwee Public is a beautiful little beachside primary school where children are taught that ‘sharing is caring'. So how has the annual School Trivia Night ended in full-blown riot? Sirens are wailing. People are screaming. The principal is mortified.

And one parent is dead.

Was it a murder, a tragic accident, or just good parents gone bad? As the parents at Pirriwee Public are about to discover, sometimes it’s the little lies that turn out to be the most lethal. Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, school-yard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.

Clever Plot & Characterisation

Loved the story and the clever way it led up to the 'event'. The narrator covered the many different characters perfectly....flawless!

what a "pageturner"!!

this is a brilliant book, full of complex characters, many of which are endearing and relatable, and the author keeps you guessing until the end. the choppy narrative and intrigue suckered me from the off and I found myself looking forward to my normally tedious commute in the car and even making excuses to go and listen to the book! definitely download it, you'll enjoy it.

Thank you

I loved every moment of it, hooked from start to finish.
I started this after having finished the show and found I much preferred this book, for many reasons. There were so many differences, big and small. Book Madeleine was much better.
I must give my kudos to the narrator, I absolutely loved her voice - especially her voices for the children, like Ziggy. Perfect. I'm glad I didn't read it but listened to her instead.

Brilliant Story

Loved it. Well written and makes you think about things a little differently and not too quickly to judge others.

Great book.

I thought I wasn't going to like it initially, but after a couple of chapters I was hooked. It's a great story and I couldn't wait to get through it!

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book

I simply didn’t want it to end.
So clever, real and honest. Such believable characters yet such ironic, hilarious twists and turns.
Thank you, both author and reader.
I’m jealous of anyone who has yet to embark upon this!!

Great Story some flaws

Very clever story . Deals with very difficult subjects Very well, but it goes over the same points over and over again in different ways. I feel it could have got to the climax a lot quicker.

Gripping

I bought this because it was in the 2 for 1 sale and had great reviews, but I started off sceptical thinking it was going to feel unoriginal. But by the second chapter the characters had all surprised me and from then on I couldn't put it down. The characters are all so well formed, I felt like I was listening to a story about friends, and the little mysteries and short chapters are all a recipe for binge listening. The narrator was great too and I felt she really captured all the main characters including the children (but I was particularly fond of her Madeleine). Would highly recommend.
