Summary
A gorgeous, heart-warming, and kinky Christmas M/M tale from award-winning author Isobel Starling
Back in Scotland after five years working in Australia, Kier Campbell finds himself stranded on a road in the Scottish Highlands on Christmas Eve. He needs to get to the next village urgently or freeze to death in his broken-down hire car. Kier hikes down the icy road and as he walks memories of the life he'd run from - and the love he'd abandoned in Scotland - return to haunt him.
With a blizzard fast approaching, a passing motorist finds Kier and offers him a lift. He is surprised to recognize the driver. As the weather worsens he realizes there is no way he will reach his parents' farm, and so is stranded with his saviour for the holidays.
Kier's one Christmas wish is to make up for the mistakes he made all those years ago, but, curiously, he finds he has an unexpected rival for his lover's affections....
FYI: This "second chance at love" story contains descriptions of gay sex and puppy play (woof!).

Second Chance with a hint of kink
A well written second chance romance with a hint of kink. Although brief, the author manages to give us a good sense of who Keir and Douglas are, where they've been, and where they're going. Even though I found the particular kink aspect a bit difficult to deal with in the sex scenes, it was such a small part it didn't really do much to spoil my enjoyment. The narrator does a fantastic job with both the accents and the characters.

Great little novella
Isobel Starling really does write great stories.
This little story is just less than 2hrs long and is about 2 childhood friends who when older become lovers, One left to travel, one stayed behind, this is their Love Reunited story.
Gary Furlong is fast becoming one of my favourite narrators, superb..

Sweet little tail 🐶
A very cute little book. Finished a bit abruptly but in a great place. I think an epilogue would have been good.
Gary Furlong's Scottish accent was so sexy!

Oh, for the love of a Scotsman!
Back Where He Belongs is such a charming story of second chance love at Christmas, with a VERY kinky twist.
I adored every second of it. The narration by Gary Furlong was sublime and I got so lost in the story he was telling that the time flew. My only negative would be it was too short. I would love more from this couple from Isobel Starling and more from Gary doing their narration.
Highly recommended for M/M listeners

Best Scottish accent I've heard
As a Scot, it's rare to find a good Scottish accent, but Gary blows this out of the water, delivering the best one I've ever heard.
This short story is sweet and sultry, with some delicious kink.

Just the tale to warm your cockles....
A super tale for Christmas, just the listen for a cold and snowy evening. I loved this story, It’s everything you want in a comfort listen - a second chance at true love with a healthy dose of kink! Kier and Dougie were lovely together, without the angst you usually get in second chance tales.
Gary Furlong, well, what can I say. He’s a fabulous narrator, his accents are perfect and believable and I’d listen to him talk all day....oh yeah, I have!
Bravo Isobel, a warming tale that goes down like Baileys Hot Chocolate!

Thoughtful Scottish second-chances romance!
When Kier Campbell left Scotland to work in Australia five years ago, he not only left his family but also his best friend and lover, Douglas. He and Douglas were in separable, they explored their sexuality together, and Kier’s departure hurt Douglas deeply. Kier is back to celebrate Christmas with his family, he isn’t planning to see Douglas but fate has other plans. I loved this thoughtful, understated second-chances romance, the two men felt so real, especially when they took refuge in silence. I knew this story contained puppy play and as I listened to the story I couldn’t see how it would be incorporated, but it felt very natural and heartwarming. I haven’t listened to many audios narrated by Gary Furlong but I loved this and will seek him out more - he used a lovely Scottish accent here.
