"One of Shaw's most enduring works, Pygmalion is an insightful comedy of class relations and perceptions, as played out between a Cockney flower girl and the irascible speech professor who has taken her on as a pet project. Described by critics as "a play of great vitality and charm," Pygmalion inspired the award-winning stage and film productions of Lerner and Loewe's musical, My Fair Lady.

"Technically flawless...a world class performance of a theatrical classic." (Midwest Book Review)
There is nothing wrong with the performance - but the play is abridged, which is not what the word 'Original' in the title line suggests!
My enjoyment of this wonderful, classic play was spoiled by having a key chunk of the script cut in such a savage edit.
On the surface, the prospect of listening to a live performance of Pygmalion, one which could be shared with my students, should be exciting. Absolutely not the case here. Shaw's script, unfortunately, is brutalized by the flagrant omission of many of his lines. Listening to the play, with a recent copy of the play in hand, I was mortified when I realized I would not be able to use this performance. Too many lines cut. Personally, I would have appreciated someone informing me that this was an "abridged" version of the play; it would have saved me the price of a download.
