Summary

Are you a parent who struggles to restrain your rage toward your children? A parent who wants a peaceful and happy family? Do you simply burst when you become angry with your kids? Although you try not to get irritated when there’s a lot going on, do you often explode in anger for the smallest of reasons? Do your children insult you and not listen to you?

My patience is being challenged every day, being a father of two—a teenage boy and an 11-year-old girl who’s starting to think that she knows everything. And my wife and I have different mindsets—like most other couples. It’s not easy. There are times that I can say, “That went well.” But there are also times of “I could’ve done a better job.” Well, it’s not about perfection, but of progression. Don’t wait until it’s too late, when permanent damages are done.

This book you will help you to:

  • Have a better understanding of what anger is
  • Catch yourself before you burst into anger
  • What you should do when you start to get angry
  • Get a better handle when your child is being difficult
  • Provide you with different techniques and guides to control your anger so you and your family can live in peace and harmony

No one’s perfect, and I am still a work in progress. And that’s the key— progress. I am far better now than what I used to be, and I’ve learned a lot so far during this journey. I was in denial, like, “I don’t have an anger issue! You guys just irritate me every time! You guys are the problem! Just stop making me angry!”

Does that sound like you? You can’t change overnight. It takes time and effort so start now and take the first step. Find out what works for you when it comes to controlling your anger. Put that monster in you behind and keep it in check before it destroys everything you love. That is why I strongly recommend that you scroll back up and buy this book. Thank you.

Brilliant book!

So, I am actually a fairly calm person, everyone sees me that way, but it doesn't matter if you blow up, get stressed, frustrated or how you 'deal' with it, kids, family, your spouse, they will all challenge you, disagree with you, throw something unexpected at you, create a situation that needs dealt with properly so not to escalate a 1 minute conversation into a 1 week or 1 month conflict! The topics and examples in this book are just too familiar for all of us, one of the takeaways is that it just happens to all of us! Great to get that perspective and take informed action to flip negative spirals into positive spirals!

Very beneficial

Every parent understands how difficult it may be to restrain your emotions at times while interacting with your kids. You love them so dearly, but occasionally they do things that can completely throw you off balance, causing you to say and do things you don't really mean. What to do in certain circumstances is beautifully advised in this audiobook. It might be challenging to control your anger and fury, but this audiobook has been a huge help! deffo recommend!

Highly recommended

This book offers a wealth of advice on how to control your anger so you can speak to your children in a clear-headed and productive way. It is packed with helpful tips and doable strategies for controlling those knee-jerk reactions and combating rising anger. Even on the most stressful days when you feel you are being provoked beyond reason you'll be able to draw on techniques to help you maintain a calm and measured approach,

It can be difficult to break long-standing habits and it does take time, patience and determination to improve, but Kadz Icasiano has done an excellent job of outlining the most effective ways to begin building positive, harmonious connections with your children and the narration by Bob Lawrence perfectly sets the tone for this journey.

Learning to be less angry

This book is a godsend! My normal mood is angry. I guess you could call me a grouch. By listening to this book, I realized that much of what I’m angry about goes back to when I was very young. I’ve been able to work through my anger and gradually, over the past couple of weeks, with the help of this book, I’ve been able to tame the monster inside me and be more of a dad to my kids than a monster! Thank you so much for a wonderful resource. I only wish you’d written this book 10 years ago. Highly recommended

Empathetic and infused with personal experience.

Even though most parents love their children, it is only human nature to feel angry at your kids' behavior. If you sometimes have trouble keeping your temper in check and don't separate your emotions from your behavior, this book is for you.

How you appropriately handle your anger when your children are annoying may not come naturally, especially if you grew up with parents who also had difficulty.

Fortunately, with the help of Kadz Icasiano's book, we can learn to regulate our emotions and correct our children's misbehavior without also misbehaving.

The author presents many real-life examples of how our children can test our patience daily, which will remind you of similar scenarios in our own lives.

Parenting is tough when other issues of health, finances, and other stressors are involved. But, it is a fact we can all do a better job. In any case, it's not a matter of perfection but improvement.

You will be relieved that you read this book and applied the techniques in your family life and did not put off learning critical strategies to manage your emotions before the damage becomes irreversible. Do not remain in denial, insisting, "I don't have an anger problem!"

The tone of the book is empathetic and infused with personal experience. Not only does the author help you gain insight into the nature of anger. You will also learn how to recognize and handle your mounting rage and release it safely. The subject is deadly serious, yet it has a voice with a spirit of down-to-earth humor.

Icasiano admits to and shares his personal parenting experiences, and shows you how you may significantly improve, just as he has.

There is no quick fix for managing one's anger and becoming a better parent. Time and effort are required.

The author helps you to explore different methods for keeping your temper in check until you find what works best for you. Nobody is perfect, and we can all take vital advice to rein in the "monster within." I recommend you read, learn, and apply the techniques to become the effective parent that your children deserve.

Valuable insights!

Lately, I find it easy to get angry, at work, at random people, and even at the people in my household. And sometimes to things or situations. Of course, I did not attack anyone as I tend to keep my anger to myself and just ‘ghost-treat’ someone I believe offended me. It is different with my partner, though; I initially turn to silent mode for many days and only then do I speak my feelings, but often, my partner does not accept them very well, and he even gets angry. I get angrier because I think, why would he be mad when he is at fault? But who knows! I have flaws too!… This book echoed my childhood, and I now understand what made me into the person I am. Although I do not have children yet, I sure will apply the knowledge to my future ones. Great content! Great Narration.

Helpful

Super audiobook which draws on the author’s personal experience and the bible to provide guidance. I recognised the references to kids’ addiction to their phones and the “Hulk” in me!. Helpfully,ch11 provides techniques to manage the devil in you and send him packing!

Learned a lot

This was a very helpful audiobook. I think as parents frustration and anger can sometimes build up and we don't realize how we are at times. This book helps to balance emotions but also still be a responsible parent. Once we recognize our emotions boiling up we can learn to manage them and become better parents. Lets be honest, our kids can push our buttons but it's not something they are doing on purpose (most of the time!), they are just being kids. I recommend this book to anyone with kids that are testing your last nerve! Also there are points in here that help with general life and it's not just about kids, its about controlling your emotions.
