Summary

After 40 years with his beloved wife, Henry is alone for the first time. His sudden bachelorhood is a struggle for him and his daughter Lisa, who is feeling pressure to fill the void. To give Henry the companionship he’s craving, Lisa buys him a personal robotic assistant. The device transforms Henry’s life and inspires him to embrace the possibility of romance during his golden years. This hilarious and touching play explores love, loss, and the real connection humans can have with technology - once you figure out how the heck to use it.

Of its time

A credible story of our time, and encompasses the loneliness shared with sometimes the only thing you can get a reply from. Cleverly written!

Grief done well

A story about grief told through father and daughter. Then they add Alexa. Poignant Humour, with remenissing and a little upsetting but a good grip on the storyline with the narration it worked.

Fun. Won't listen again.

Like a play. Some heartwarming moments, especially the ending. By and large it dragged, but there were some good insights into the human condition.

I love it

I love the narration, theme, and the way “Alexa” witty humour is infused into the storyline. Having to deal with my kids tormenting Alexa in my house, the story and often off point Alexa responses are so relatable. I love the way the story capture the life of people dealing with grief.

Ok-ish

It was OK but I didn't really like it. A man is lonely since losing his wife, Alexa. His daughter gets him an Alexa to talk to. He makes believe he is talking to his wife and it does seem to help him before moving on.

His daughter is just irritated with him half the time and her voice and tone of voice grated on my nerves - even though the voice acting is clearly good. She also suddenly changed her tune/attitude at one point which seemed weird. Sometimes Alexa stops talking when asked and sometimes she keeps going on when told to stop multiple times. It was a little confusing how the Amazon Alexa and the voice of his late wife were almost the same.
