I had no idea Victorian England was metric

If I were to summarize this book in a single sentence it would be easy: A wonderful idea let down by average writing and bad narration.

I still found the story enjoyable, especially the conflict between the Victorian mores and the un-reality of modern gaming. However, every now an then there would be a single detail completely breaking immersion - just like the protagonist using metric system.

The real problem for me was the narration. Especially one word. Debuff. Every time it appeared it stuck out just as if it was cut out from a different audio file. I had to continuously rewind and replay sections, because ihe strangely accented word was the only thing I could concentrate on.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
