Summary

An English village can be deadly, when your past catches up with you....

In the beautiful rural Somerset village of Lower Hembrow, crammed full with English eccentrics, something is amiss....

Landscape gardener Imogen Bishop has spent the last 30 years trying to forget one fateful school night but when her estranged husband Greg Bishop is found dead in the grounds of her father's Georgian hotel, danger threatens to overwhelm her.

Retired police officer Adam Hennessey, hoping for a peaceful life running his traditional Somerset country pub, finds himself drawn into the unfolding drama in the hotel across the road.

Imogen, Adam and Harley the stray dog form an unlikely partnership as they try to untangle a knot of secrets, solve a murder mystery and bring a killer to justice.

easy listening

easy listening, like watching miss Marple or midsummer murders. Nice setting and good characters. Could see this becoming a series.

Extremely Cosy, Cozy Mystery

I read a few of the reviews before deciding to read this. A couple of the unfavourable ones were, I think, a bit too harsh. The red herrings were expertly done and DID take your mind off the plot! That was explained in the denouement.

I got a feeling of the Cherringham Cozy Mystery’s. That’s high praise indeed! Don’t dismiss this because some people didn’t like it. There are others who really did. The narrator, Charlotte Stevens was very good in telling the tale. I’m interested to read book 2.

Something a little different

Downloaded this from audible plus. did not expect it to be as good as it was. A little slow to start but picked up quickly and held my attention to the end. Will look for more by Frances Evesham.
