Summary

Leni Turner

I learned very young that love had the power to destroy us, and vowed never to lose myself to love another. I escaped Texas, and broke his heart to save myself. Five years later, my dreams shattered, and I’m on a bus back to the place I never wanted to be in.

Liam Moore

After years without contact, I find her green eyes staring back at me, and I realize how much I’ve missed her. She doesn’t want me in her life, but I don’t know how I’ll make it without her in mine.

Sometimes, the thing you’re most scared of has the power to save you in the end.

loved

Loved the dual narration of Amy Hall and Ryan Haugen

Lenny and Liam first met when they were just six years old . Lenny's parents were cruel and this shaped the person she becomes. Liam he loves Lenny through all her troubles. Lenny pushed him out of her life, because of the pain from her childhood . Now years later, circumstances force Leni back to Texas, back within Liam’s reach.
A journey, of love

Wonderful

I really enjoyed listening to Liam, and Leni's story. They were childhood best friends, to enemies. The story goes back, and forth, from past, to present with their memories, and it's full of emotions. I adored Leni's grandma. Liam made me swoon with his sweet charm. Leni was stubborn, but really just trying to protect herself. Narration was on point, and good listen.

Liam & Leni

Audiobook review

A Hundred Ways to Love was a beautiful and emotional story.
Liam and Leni meet when they are young feeling forever destined to each other from such a young age. Unfortunately Lenin’s life at home isn’t a happy one and after watching her mother loose her essence to love she decides she’ll never love and kicks Liam out of her life. Liam, on the other hand never gives up on her until Leni stops spending her Summer’s with her grandmother. But one day she’s back and so are all the emotions and feelings that surround them.

Overall this was a great book but towards the end all seemed a bit rushed as if it was time to wrap up. Second chance stories always bring tears to my ways and this one did not disappoint.

Amy Hall and Ryan Haugen are amazing as Leni and Liam, bringing out all the emotions and personality of each character.

Good but not my cup of tea

Let me start this review by saying that this is a lovely story and the narrators performed it extremely well, but unfortunately it wasn't for me, and I stopped listening after chapter 5. The story was good but I found the constant switches between past and present extremely distracting and for me, it really slowed the story down and made me lose interest.
If flashbacks in every chapter is something you enjoy, I highly recommend that you check this out.

Sweet

Liam has loved Lenny since he first saw her at 6 years old . When she was 14 she told him they couldn’t be friends anymore and ignored him ,she thought she was protecting herself from what her parents had put her through. I don’t usually like sweet romances but I enjoyed this . Never listened to either narrator before and I really enjoyed them.

Sickly Sweet

This book has a decent story but it is 'fairy-tale' sickly sweet, very tame, very safe with no spice. Meaning that the author took no chances, there are no surprises and nothing dramatic or exciting happens. It's just a steady paced love story for the most part, and the ending is overly drawn out to the point that I thought it was going to finish at least three times before it actually ended. You can't get more HEA than this book. The best part about the audiobook were the narrators who did a great job.

I was given this book for free of my own choosing and I voluntarily left this review.

Cute

This was a young love denied story with a HEA. Her backstory seemed more fleshed out but it felt that his was lacking in detail. Narration was well done

I loved, loved, loved this story!

This is a beautiful story of second changes, growth, change and redemption. Set in rural Texas, a struggling artist out of chances and out of luck, returns to live with her Grandmother. Leni is bitter, guarded, and depressed. Never getting along with her parents, her Grandmother’s home was a safe respite. Over the years, her summer meant peace, happiness, and a growing friendship with Liam from the ranch next door.

As she grew up, Leni never wanted to repeat the mistakes of her parents, so she kept love and relationships at arm’s length. Liam is kind, hard-working, and decent. He cares about Leni, but her stubbornness and cool cruelty may just push him away for good.

Amy Hall and Ryan Haugen did a great job bringing this story to life. I listened to it almost non-stop, I became so engaged in the story and the characters. Highly recommend.

Wonderfully Engrossing & Heartfelt! Awesome🎧📚🎧

I enjoyed this book immensely, the story is well-written with interesting storylines that captivate your attention from start to end. The characters and storylines are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Leni Turner did not have the best parents or home life, her father did not treat her or her mother well and her mother did not stand up for her or herself. The highlight of her year were the summers when she got to stay with her favorite person, Mimi, her grandmother who ran a farm. She also befriended Liam, the boy next door, and she looked forward to seeing him. Liam Moore grew up on the farm next to Mimi’s and he looked forwarded to seeing and spending time with Leni every summer. The two knew each other since they were 6 years old, but when they reached their teen years, their feelings for each other morphed in to something more than friendship, especially for Liam. Leni also felt it but she fought it, witnessing what loving someone did to her mother who had given up everything she loved for her father to only became a doormat and a shell of a person. Leni vowed never to do that. She also vowed to get as far away from Texas as she could. When she got accepted into Cooper Union, she left for NY and planned to never look back. Unfortunately, her plans did not work out, she did not find the happiness she thought she would and her career in art fell flat. She left NY broke and had no choice but to go back to the one person she knew who would comfort her, Mimi. And the first person she runs into, or rather almost runs into her, was Liam Moore, and despite how poorly she treated him before she left for NY, he still offered her help and a ride to the ranch. Liam never got over Leni and her being back stirs up his old feelings. A lot has happened since she left, including changes on Mimi’s farm. Leni was her own worst enemy, not allowing anyone in and running away from love, trying to find her happiness. She needed to learn that happiness starts from within. I admired Liam’s patience with her and his ability to forgive her for the way she treated him all those years. The heart wants what the heart wants, and he had an enormous heart. This is a beautifully plotted romance novel, there is plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and a love that was years in the making. Ellie Wade, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Amy Hall and Ryan Haugen did a great job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, sounding believable in the roles they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Amy Hall’s Leni was spot on, she had you feeling her turmoil and her every emotion, Ryan Haugen nailed it as Liam, grasped his every emotion too. They were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These talented narrators are versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.
