The ending…how could you ?!?
Absolutely loved loved loved the book! But the ending had me rewinding to check I heard it correctly! All that build up to end like that, really wish there was a different outcome.

The sadness of Sandy's story.
Loved the fact we got to know what happened to Sandy. To know she loved Roy to the end. Sorry for her son Bruno.. I hope Roy takes his son Bruno in. Also that the Beautiful island of Jersey was part of this story. Places like Corbiere lighthouse and Bouley Bay with the lovely Mad Mary's beach cafe that i have visited many times over the years and still do .
Well done Peter James for another fantastic story.

From the first chapter to the last sentence it had me hooked. I have loved the the Roy Grace journey.

Excellent Narration
I disliked Sandy’s character, repetitive by times and a bit too far fetched for my liking. But it didn’t stop me finishing it!

The best yet
Absolutely could not put this book down, the best I have read from Peter James yet. So well constructed, a real page turner. As it is Sandy’s story you can read it at any time in the Grace series, not necessarily in order of the Roy Grace novels (although I wouldn’t recommend it as a starting point in this series, it would be better to have some initial backstory from the Roy Grace books).

Awesome
All my emotions were tested by this book. I hated, loved and pitied the main character. I felt anxious and terrified by circumstance played out. I thoroughly recommend you read the WHOLE Grace series although this really does stand alone

Fantastic
Wasn’t sure if I was all that interested in Sandy’s back story but this turned out to be THE story I needed to know. It is so well imagined and so well narrated. I love we know why Sandy disappeared right from the start, no messing around. And the reason why really caught me off guard and what a tale it is. Does not let up for one minute. Well done to author and narrator.
