Summary

The Earth lies in ruins in the aftermath of an extraterrestrial invasion, the land devastated by a desperate war with no winners between mankind and a race of vicious, intelligent creatures. The seas are drying up while the atmosphere corrodes and slowly cooks any life remaining on the now desolate rock. Food is scarce, trust even more so, and the only people left alive all have done horrific things to stay that way.

Among the few survivors is Lucas, an ordinary man hardened by the last few years after the world's end. He's fought off bandits, murderers, and stranded creatures on his long trek across the country in search of his family, the one thing that drives him to outlive his dying planet. What he finds instead is hope, something thought to be lost in the world. There's a ship buried in a crater wall. One of theirs. One that works. To fly it, Lucas must join forces with a traitorous alien scientist and a captured, merciless raider named Asha. But unless they find common ground, all will die, stranded on a ruined Earth.

Combining gritty post-apocalyptic survival and epic space opera, The Last Exodus is the beginning of a new action-packed science fiction adventure where the future of the human race depends on its survivors leaving the past behind.

Characters you will love, gripping action

I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced with unexpected twists and impossible situations which the hero's have to overcome. The addition of a child in this war torn backdrop is interesting. This origins of the alien races is different showing a new perspective otherwise unexplored in in other books I've listened to. This is a ripping sci-fi adventure.

Excellent And Original.

I really enjoyed this book and it was an original story. The narration was really good and brought the story to life. The only negative was it had several Hollywood cliches dotted throughout that it could of done without.

"The war was over and everyone lost."

What an excellent iopening, followed by a sparse few chapters as the reader follows Lucas, alone and still trying to survive a near read earth - and anyone else who might still exist. Alone - until he meets up with the ones who will be come his allies - the three survivors with an outrageous plan: the man, Lucas, the woman, Asha, and the alien, Alpha, plus a child.
An ingenious, if totally unbelievable, story, an horrific start, a lot of fight action, but a definite lack of character building and, despite much mechanical description,, little world building either. Still, the narration by Victor Bovine was good and the listening easy.

Surprisingly Brilliant

This was a free download on an audible sale and im so glad I found it! Certainly the best sci-fi I've read in years. Beyond the good balance of hard sci-fi and a little well justified FTL, this delivers a well constructed and emotive human/alien character, and has plenty of mysteries to keep the reader hooked. I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

Also, great voice acting!

Trilogy Review

Having just finished the whole trilogy I figured I'd come back to review it as a whole.
absolutely brilliant. each book builds upon thr last. the characters all have very unique personalities. the world building os so good it makes you feel like you are actually there.

I would highly recommend this whole series of books. it is very entertaining.

the narration is some of the best I have heard. all of the characters have very different voices so are easily identifiable, which is no easy feat once you hear them!

definitely worth paying for them, but if they are still part of the Plus Catalogue then there is simply no reason you shouldn't already be listening to this.
