Summary
The first book of the cozy mystery series!
Still spinning from the hustle and bustle of city life, Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker is glad to be back in the Cornish village she calls home. Having quit the Met Police in search of something less dangerous, the change of pace means she can finally start her dream catering company and raise her daughter, Daisy, somewhere safer.
But there’s nothing quite like having your first job back at home be catering an ex-boyfriend’s wedding to remind you of just how small your village is. And when the bride vanishes, Jodie is drawn into the investigation, realising that life in the countryside might not be as quaint as she remembers.
With a missing bride on their hands, murder and mayhem lurks around every corner…
But surely saving the day will be a piece of cake for this not-so-amateur sleuth?

Gentle crime drama with great characters - loved it!!
I loved the characters and even the cheesy relationship with the DCI was great. A gentle afternoon’s listening whilst raking the leaves!

Predictable and boring
Sadly this is the worst audio book I have listened to. I listened to the end, but wasn’t worth it. The story was boring and predictable. I definitely won’t be listening to any more of this series. The only part which saved it was the narration.

It was really good fun to listen to. Much better than I expected. ‘A cosy murder mystery’ as one reviewer explained. I concer.
I didn’t want anything too deep or harrowing, & not an obvious storyline. Good easy listening & well written.

Narrator
Zara Ramm injects the right tone and humour into this easy listening crime novel.
I always love her narration and would recommend listening to other novels that she narrates.
The story was good, setting us up for interesting follow up books.

Loved it.
This was my first Fiona Leitch story and I loved it. I will look out for more of her books especially with Jodie and DCI Withers as the main characters. Well worth listening too.

Hilarious
I loved Parkers sense of humour. I loved the narrator who was excellent with the Cornish accent, which is a hard accent to do

Brilliant, my luverrr
I came across this because of the narrator, Zara, whom I've heard before...she is superb. Her narration and accents make a really good cosy murder even more enjoyable. Great characters to be introduced to, a twisty turny story and laugh out loud moments. 5 stars for the author.
