Summary
In Neither Here nor There Bill Bryson brings his unique brand of humour to bear on Europe as he shoulders his backpack, keeps a tight hold on his wallet, and journeys from Hammerfest, the northernmost town on the continent, to Istanbul on the cusp of Asia. Whether braving the homicidal motorists of Paris, being robbed by gypsies in Florence, attempting not to order tripe and eyeballs in a German restaurant, window-shopping in the sex shops of the Reeperbahn or disputing his hotel bill in Copenhagen, Bryson takes in the sights, dissects the culture and illuminates each place and person with his hilariously caustic observations.

Hilariously discriptive and Brilliant
Bill has a great expressive word power. He describes the situations, people and places with brilliance. His descriptive account of European travels creates an enjoyable picture to the listeners. I enjoyed the audio and got hooked on it.

Typical Bryson - lovin' it
Well written, informative, interesting and humorous. Everything in fact that has made Bill Bryson such a popular and best selling author.
William Roberts is a wonderful Bryson interpreter and does a great job with this book once again.
If you like Bill Bryson's work or just want to try it this is as good a place to start as any.

Hilarious
Full of xenophobia and stereotypes that all actually seem to be based on reality.
I read this book nearly 20 years ago, listening to it was even more enjoyable.
The perfect holiday book

An easy listen
Enjoyed this book overall but it got a little repetitive and certainly not as good as Notes from a small island. Really like the narrator.

Very good. Very Bill Bryson
Always entertaining, sometimes predictable and occasionally, for me at least, laugh-out-loud funny. Another gem from the acerbic wit of Mr Bryson about his journey across Europe, from north to south.

You Will Be Bill's Travel Pal
The narration was so easy to listen to, and for me to have my past car journeys from London to Greece, via Communist Yugoslavia brought back to me. Yes, department stores really were that eccentric. We stayed in a hotel in Titograd where the lift was always full of local day trippers enjoying the ride up and down. This has given me the irresistible urge to add taking the ferry to Asia onto my bucket list .

Humour and calm
I love listening to the journey unfold in the typical unique Bryson way. William Robert's calming voice brings it all together....a perfect partnership in my opinion.

An excellent listen
Loved this as both a book and an audio book. Very amusing and well told, a good follow on to Notes from a Small Island
