Summary
'Laugh out loud funny and deeply validating - every person who thinks ADHD isn't real should read this book' Leanne Maskell, author of ADHD: An A to Z
Nobody should spend their life feeling defective. Everyone deserves to have a user manual to their brain - welcome to yours.
Once associated more with hyper boys than adults, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is now recognised as a condition in need of a rebrand which affects people of all genders and ages in a multitude of ways.
In this enlightening and definitive layman's guide, Kat Brown cheerfully smashes the stereotypes with scientific evidence, historical context, and practical support for ADHD minds across areas that can cause problems, from finances and work to self-medicating, relationships, hormones and self-esteem.
Based on Kat's personal experience and extensive interviews with ADHDers and world-leading clinical experts, It's Not A Bloody Trend is for anyone wondering if what's always been 'wrong' with them might just be undiagnosed ADHD.

Must read for anyone with ADHD (or anyone who knows them!)
This is the book that I wish existed when I was diagnosed almost three years ago- I'm not sure I've ever felt such a sense of belonging!
Kat does a fantastic job of weaving anecdotes, her own and those of others, with expert opinions and practical explanations/tips. An entertaining, comforting and helpful read all in one!
Half way through and couldn't recommend more!

Perfect balance between factual and emotional cont
Wonderful book.
Quite an emotional listen when there are so many ‘that’s how I feel / what I do’ moments.
Narration is excellent . Brings warmth and humour to the testimonies.

The best guide on the subject
I laughed, I cried, I became totally immersed in the book written (and read!) in a delicate and hilarious way. With my brain being the way it is, I found it well compartmentalised, and was easy - and more importantly compelling - to follow.

Actually useful narrative.
Psycho education is one of the most useful tools for the recently diagnosed/realised. An excellent place to start.

A factual, honest and well presented book.
Kept me interested throughout (even going through ADHD and the menopause).
This will ring true to many, if not all ADHDers, It will hopefully provide an in-site for neurotypical’s that may be struggling to understand or even comprehend what neurodiverse people have been thinking is normal their entire life, and why it’s hard for us to get our heads around the fact that we have ADHD. Especially when we realise that we have ADHD and that it explains everything that we’ve been battling with our entire lives. Why we’ve been finding things so hard and exhausting to do and why we’ve been trying to fit into a box that is in no way designed for us, and why we have not completed so many things that we wanted to complete.

it's like it was written for me.
It's hard for me to put into words really, but this book is exactly what I needed, as I have very recently discovered that I have had ADHD since I was about 10/11 and it has shaped every part of my life for better, but definitely for worse. to be 48 years old and finally find out that I was not just useless, scatterbrained, lazy, disorganised, stupid, not living up to my potential, "too much/ chatty/ loud " and on and on... this book has been hugely validating to me, full of research, stories from women JUST like me and real strategies to find help and help myself. Kat is so relatable in myriad ways and manages to entirely avoid any hint of "poor me". I am beyond grateful and have ordered a paperback version for my mum and my partner has downloaded this version, as I believe it will help them better understand why I am the way I am (for best and for most irritating)
hooray, this book is everything.
