Summary

What if everything she thought she knew was a lie?

Schoolteacher Rachel will do anything to protect her younger sister, Laura. So when their long-lost father shows up out of the blue and makes a shocking accusation against Laura’s husband, Rachel is thrown into turmoil.

As undeniable evidence surfaces, Rachel discovers everything she thought she knew was wrong.

Has her sister’s entire life been a lie? And how did her young niece get the bruises she is hiding? And who keeps calling her in the middle of the night?

As their father works his way into their lives, Rachel finds her ordered world slipping away. Already reeling from the breakup of her own marriage, she doesn’t know who to trust - her father or her sister.

One of them is lying, hiding a terrible secret.

Can Rachel discover the truth before it is too late?

Dear Sister is a gripping psychological thriller with a mind-blowing twist that will leave listeners hooked long into the night. Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, K.L Slater and Ruth Heald.

Boring Domestic Squabble

Nothing really happens till the end. Obvious from start that Dad was up to no good. Could not work up a liking or sympathy for either sister.

Entertaining story

The story was entertaining enough. Some aspects of the plot felt contrived. The prose would improve if the author used contractions more, particularly in dialogue. Overall, a good listen, which I would recommend to fans of the genre.

Didn’t hold my interest.

I finished reading this although it didn’t hold my interest. The narration was fine but if I hear the expression ‘our father’ once more I might go mad myself! The language was repetitive at times. I’m thinking that if Rachel was as bright as it was implied, and came from the background she did, she’d have twigged on about her sister. Seemed a bit implausible. Not for me.

Ok for a free title

I found this book to be cliched and predictable. Some issues with grammar as well. It did however keep me interested until the end hence being “Ok”.

A real thriller to keep you guessing

Clever storyline and a great narrator too, using a subtle change in her voice to differentiate between the two sisters that conveyed so much about their characters. I really enjoyed this book.

Enjoyable

Quite an easy listen, enjoyed the storyline. One character was a bit annoying but I think that’s part of it and to provoke a reaction. Narration good.

Alright - very predictable

Just alright. The Dad was clearly dodgy, can’t believe anyone would be so gullible but maybe they are!
