Summary

He only looked away for a second.

Still haunted by the disappearance of his little sister, Amy, over 20 years ago, Joseph Bridgeman’s life has fallen apart. When a friend talks him into seeing hypnotherapist Alexia Finch to help with his insomnia, Joseph accidentally discovers he can time travel. His first trip only takes him back a few minutes, but his new-found ability gives him something he hasn’t felt for the longest time: hope.

Joseph sets out to travel back to the night Amy went missing and save her. But after several failed attempts, he discovers the farther back he travels, the less time he gets to stay there. And the clock is ticking.

With the help of Alexia, Joseph embarks on a desperate race against the past to save his sister. Can he master his new skill and solve the mystery of Amy’s disappearance before it’s too late?

Previously released as The Unexpected Gift of Joseph Bridgeman, this updated version includes extra chapters, new plotlines, and even deeper character development. It makes way for an expanded vision of the Joseph Bridgeman Series, with the first four books released in 2021 and 2022.

Very very odd choice of reader

This novel is clearly by a British writer but is for some reason read by an American. This results in many dick van dyk type impressions and a few mispronounced words. It is however a great story but with a few loose ends that don't make sense as is the case with many time travel novels. Over all its a fun read

I do hope there's a follow up

Yea, as a Brit, the British voices were somewhat cartoonish, but I've love listening to the author's voice on many audibles and he one of my favorites'.

I calculated the quality of the book/audible by how much I pick it up.

This one was first thing in the morning; while I'm driving; generally walking around and last thing at night. So yea, a very good 10.

Narrator

I didn’t mind the American narrator, but why was he putting the Michael Jackson voice on when he was doing the female voice lol …

I really enjoyed this

Come on people, stop complaining about the American narrator. It’s Ray Porter! One of the best audible has.

Good Concept, irritating narration

Good British story, that hooks you in but couldn't help feeling irritation at American narration

What a Gem!!!

I'm not crying, you're crying! Omg this moved me so much. it's fantastic. and what a movie it would make!
Well, I was not expecting this! First the basics, based in the UK, English protagonist but voiced by an American narrator. it works, Ray is fantastic and yes he does good accents, trust me, it's fine and gorgeous to listen to, it's a lovely performance. Cultural references going backwards and forwards to the 90s are always fun. Laugh out loud funny in places, I absolutely love Vinnie! Very different type of story I'd usually go for, didn't realise it was about time travelling. Can't wait for the next one!

Great Time Travel Story

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. With the unexpected twists, and I am so keen in this as a series that I will move quite hastily onto the next book.
