Summary

The first time somebody tried to kill him was an accident.

The second time was deliberate.

Now Paul Mulchrone finds himself on the run with nobody to turn to except a nurse who has read one-too-many crime novels and a renegade copper with a penchant for violence. Together they must solve one of the most notorious crimes in Irish history.

Or else they’ll be history.

A Man with One of Those Faces is the first book in Caimh McDonnell's critically acclaimed Dublin Trilogy series, which melds fast-paced action with a distinctly Irish acerbic wit.

Enjoyed it and it's not my poison of choice

I don't normally go for murder mysteries, with a touch of thillers and a sprinkling of who dunnit's asking the way, but I was told that this book had a nice vein of humour running through it and I can honestly say it was an enjoyable listen.

Humorous thriller

The mix of characters was a bit confusing and the humour a bit forced at times , but overall it was entertaining and a clever story line.

Terrific

Let’s hope that Colin Farrell takes the hint. Brilliant story. Excellent characters. Beautifully written. Thanks Caimh.

Good story, but tone down the accents, please!

The story is excellent, with plenty of twists and turns, while still just easy enough to follow the plot.
Unfortunately, the overwrought narration nearly made me stop listening a few times. Each and every character does not have to have a different voice! And possibly the absolutely worst South African accent in a strong field.
Because of the good writing, I will give the narration one more chance.

Hilarious, can’t wait to start the next

I have read a few Irish crime series and was surprised this never came up in my searches.
Loved this from the start, it has me in stitches. It’s like early Janet Evanovich but better.

fab

I loved this. The narration was great, the story twisty. It put me in mind of the TV series The Bix Beiderbeck affair, chaotic with a main theme

OK but hints of misogyny

Good story but typical of a story written by a man with bias towards women.

Laugh out loud and what a great story…

I loved all the characters , brilliantly narrated by Morgan C Jones, The story was fast paced as well as both tugging at your heart strings one minute and making you laugh the next. Great twist as well. Who could ask for more?

Wonderful

A ripping yarn, characters you can relate to getting themselves into situations you don’t envy. Several laugh out loud moments and leaves you asking yourself ‘what next’. Excellent narration that brings the story to life, I loved it.

Brilliant narration of an entertaining tale

Amusing story with characters that draw you in. Narrated really well. Makes you want to find out what happened next to the main protagonists.
