Summary

July 1940. England prepares for invasion, all eyes focused on its borders.

But such focus inevitably leaves gaps elsewhere, and Hitler sees an opportunity to carry out an audacious plot that would change the course of the war…

The Duke of Windsor, brother to King George VI and former ruler of the United Kingdom in his own right, is a target.

Hitler’s intention: to kidnap him and hold him ransom – the ultimate leverage against an embattled and beleaguered British government.

But can it really be done? And who amongst the German secret services is audacious enough to set a trap to catch a king?

Amazing Story but delivery is lacking

i have been waiting for this on audible for ages and then they muck it up
Great story but narrator was poor... instead of reading the second of june it was two june. Also reading was too laboured and not enough pause between paragraphs. So you would have someone in a bar and then they would talk about a different person but in a different setting but because there is no pause you still think initially they are in the bar. There was also an error in pronouncing Luftwaffe... so it just gets said twice..! plus the reader's churchill voice sounds exactly like zippy off rainbow!
Really disappointing as this story deserves so much better

Returned

When in the opening the Duke of Windsor, a Nazi sympathizer, was described as 'an honorable man' I switched off.
