Midsummer, the Dorset coast

In the shadows of an ancient wood, guests gather for the opening weekend of The Manor: a beautiful new countryside retreat.

But under the burning midsummer sun, darkness stirs. Old friends and enemies circulate among the guests. And the candles have barely been lit for a solstice supper when the body is found.

It all began with a secret, fifteen years ago. Now the past has crashed the party. And it’ll end in murder at…

LOVE LOVE LOVE

You absolutely won’t be disappointed with this one!

I’m a huge fan of Lucy Foleys work. My favourite books are The Hunting Party and The guest List which I re read regularly as I enjoy them so much.
I unfortunately didn’t enjoy The Paris Apartment, I will definitely give it another go to see if it has gown on me.

The Midnight Feast, I was automatically hooked and knew that this would be a smash hit. Excellent work, great storytelling and narrators are great. Throughly enjoying this one 💖

Excellent story and narration.

I love Lucy Foleys writing and her stories. They are a bit scary, full of tension and always very clever.
I really enjoyed listening to this and I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next.
I love the twists and turns of this story and I thought I’d figured it out but I wasn’t even close.
Can’t wait for her next one!

Dreadful

This is the first audiobook I’ve ever returned…and this after dedicating more than 2 hours of my life to it! I kept waiting for the story to coalesce and it just wouldn’t happen. Two hours in and I didn’t care anymore than I did when it started.

Given the material, it’s a bit mean-spirited to shred the actors. But honestly, they were as uninvested as I was and it showed. The pacing was as slow and dreary as the plot and the accents were unintentionally comedic. Give this one a pass.
