Vivid recollections of childhood memories
Roald Dahl's Boy is read brilliantly by Dan Stevens to recollect vivid stories refreshingly told from the perspective of his younger self which have left a lasting impression on an adult Dahl's memories of childhood. I enjoyed discovering the real-life experiences that inspired elements of Dahl's fictional work. He truly connects with his inner child in great detail, describing artfully his motivations, experiences and emotions as a young Boy.

Stories of childhood
This book is very entertaining and enlightening. Within the many stories of his childhood it is possible to see where the inspiration for his books came from.

Well narrated version of a classic child-friendly autobiography
Whilst Dahl claimed this wasn't an auto-biography, it really is. The story is great fun and there narrator has a range of voices which do it justice. Now it's time for a reread of Going Solo (which, if anything, is even better).

Loved it
We played this during a long car journey, our 7 year old loved it and so did we. The dramatisation really brought the story to life and what a life he had. I would highly recommend this and his follow up book - Solo. We have heard both several times now.

Interesting facts
I'm 12, I got this audio book for a thirty day free trial and finished it within three days. I've learnt a lot about Roald Dahls life and its sad to hear about beatings and everything bad about schools in those days.I also respect his mother, who by what she has done in this audio book is a very good person who I would love to have as a mother (although mine is still alright, lol jk :)
