Summary
A no-nonsense and helpful guide on how to cope with a slew of mental-health issues that are hell-bent on ruining the lives of millions of people worldwide
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in.
With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately to the non-emergencies of everyday life, and to deal effectively with old, or newly acquired, traumas (particularly post-traumatic stress disorder).

The sweating is so unnecessary
Interesting listen, but the lasting memory is that the swearing is just there trying to be ’cool’ !
Other than that, very good

Speaks my language
Love this book.
Ok so there is loads of swearing but I’m ok with that. This book much so much sense. It’s straight forward - no big words that you have google!
The only frustration in this version is the background noise

Excellent start place for mental health
Just finished "Unfuck your Brain" by Faith G Harper. I think it's probably better for people who think they might have mental health issues and families of people with mental health issues than it is for people actually suffering. She is phenomenal with the descriptions of each of the conditions but a bit light on ways you can treat them. Actually probably a good read for everyone so you can remain vigilant about keeping up your self care. Also she swears like a sailor throughout which makes me giggle.

I really enjoyed this book and found the information easy to understand and relatable in lay man’s terms. I will listen to this book again.

Way too much swearing
The content in itself is interesting, however the amount of swearing and foul language makes every sentence sound the same and brings the whole experience down. I am not against swearing at all when it’s used to reinforce certain aspects or make things sound funny, but this is way too ghetto. Lost me mid way unfortunately.

I wish the quality was better
You can hear dogs, other people and cars in the background. It was unnecessarily full of swear words - I know they were meant to show that it isn’t a lofty topic but they distract me. The content outside of that was interesting.
