'Truly heroic' Daniel Craig
'A completely brilliant thing, to benefit so many' Nicole Kidman
'Powerful and deeply moving' Andy Burnham
'An epic journey . . . will touch the hearts of people everywhere' Lou Macari

*With a foreword written and narrated by Dan Walker*

'We were (and are) three ordinary dads who found ourselves in a desperate place we never expected to be, engulfed by pain and suffering beyond imagining, but who chose to push back, to not allow it to overwhelm us, to build something positive from the shattered pieces of our lives. We wanted to do something ... and this is what it became: Three Dads Walking.'

These three dads would rather have never met. Strangers bound by grief, they joined together to save lives and became a national inspiration - one step at a time. This is their incredible journey.

In memory of their young daughters - Sophie, Beth and Emily - who took their own lives, three dads set out on a 300-mile journey across the country, from the windswept Lakeland fells and Peak District dales to the open plains of the eastern Fens. Putting one foot in front of the other in spite of their pain, they capture the hearts of millions: laughing together, crying together, fighting to be heard. With each hill climbed and story shared, they begin to rediscover their faith in humanity and are inspired by the kindness of strangers across the land.

Woven around personal diary entries and their own experiences of deep grief, this book, told in three distinct parts by each dad, grows into a beacon of hope for anyone struggling. Itʼs about the power of speaking out, of friendship, laughter and courage (and blisters). The three dads bear a heavy load, but they walk on for us all, finding light on the path after the darkest times.

'Awe-inspiring' Carol Vorderman

Superb telling of an amazing story

Listen to it. Tell your friends about it.

Suicide is the single greatest cause of death in under 35s in the UK. These guys are on a mission to change that and you can too.

Also - brilliantly told by three dads in their own voices. Great production and story compellingly told. But you’d expect that from these guys…

So listen to the story, spread the message and make every one of their steps count.

3 dads telling their heartbreaking stories

This book is sad, up lifting, and every thing in between. The honesty of the 3 dads telling their stories of losing their daughters to sucide, and their need to keep on campaigning to get sucide talked about, all the while doing mammoth walks and raising money for the Papyrus Charity.

Heartbreaking

Having heard about 3 dads walking on instagram, when this book came up as a suggestion I decided to listen. I’m so glad I did. Although the stories of the loss of these dad 3 girls is heartbreaking. The message is so important. We don’t talk about suicide. I didn’t know it was the biggest killer of under 35s. The book is read beautifully by each dad and although it’s a tough listen it’s uplifting to hear how they are spreading the message about prevention of suicide. It’s all around us and touches so many people. Having listened to this book I will, when my son is a little older talk to him about mental health and how talking is always the answer and no problem is too big to sort out with help from others. And how to ask friends if they’re ok. How suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary situation. The dads are right this needs to be on the school curriculum as much as road safety!

Fabulous, inspirational and informative

What an excellent audio book. So well written, constructed and narrated by the brave Three Dads. It was good to learn more of the lives and struggles of the individual families and their support groups following the very sad deaths of their talented and beautiful daughters: Sophie, Beth and Emily. And just as important to learn of the impact the Dads have had on the wider community across the UK and the many bereaved parents who joined them to walk and talk on the 300 Miles of Hope.

Hope Inspiring

Beautifully written and read by three incredible dads. This book truly tells a story of hope and shows a way forward even in extremely dark times. Thank you to these wonderful men for sharing their pain and for doing so much to help others.

One of the most authentic & emotion books

Andy, Mike, & Tim are just three regular guys who have been brought together by circumstances that wish had never happened. This book will have you in tears, as well as make you laugh out loud. These guys are not professional writers - but they are people that each one of us can relate to. This is not a Walking Book, or a Travel Journal - but more an account of what they all thought was going to be a weird experience. However what they did was to make their focus a point of normality. The tale of what they did has brought out so much in the way of people just being so kind & hospitable - this does more to raise the pride of being British than anything else I have come across this decade. The narration is not the most polished, but drips in being so real. The subject is one of those awkward subjects that has not been spoken about in public before - their tale is one of normalising it. Having experienced this book, you will want to do more. What you will have done is add more to Papyrus' monies - which is something there is no argument against. I only wish the Government listened...
